Every once in a while, on one of the satellite/cable channels, there will be some sort of marathon going on for B movies. Some good, some bad, some corny as all get out, but it is what I and a few others grew up with. You speak of watching something in black and white.

I can vividly remember my parents getting their very first console color tv. It was a tv only, not one of those humongous tv/stero combinations that so many other had back in the day. Dad and mom were so proud of that fancy color tv they had bought.

I suppose I was too, but there were still black and white tv shows back then, and I speak not of any reruns either. All new shows.

How far we have come, to LCD and LED and Plasma tv's.

And I still get to see black and white movies/tv shows, on my LCD tv!

There is a thread here about a female driver and a former safety dept man. Well to cut to the chase, he (the former safety guy) had said that some people become drivers as a last resort, and should never be a driver. He claimed that many failed at one thing or another, after losing a job that they had for so long and they feel low about themselves.

Ok now, fast forward to ANY trucking company that offers training. They take it,, since it is their last resort. The companies that have leasing, and they make such a great story on how to become rich(er) than they are now, and the newbies eat it and suck it up for a better life.

They care NOT the .25¢ per mile, all they see is those imaginary dollar signs.

Like PT Barnum said, "there's a sucker born every minute".

And as a result, of course no l/o will ever show a profit or even submit to questioning of such, as he pretty much has seen the non-existent fistful of dollars!

Then they leave in under a year's time, disgruntled about trucking and sometimes blame nearly everyone who tried to inform them to stay away.

I just wish that people wanting to get in to trucking would do some homework
    and ask to vital questions
    1. What is your company's turn over rate? For england it is over 90%.
    2. Why is it that high?
then as yourself would you even want to work for them people are leaving for a reason. Find out why.

I have a true and very funny story about stinky perfumes.

At an LTL company I worked at, there was this guy that would break my chops on a nightly basis. I had had enough of him. I went to the local Walgreens store and asked the gal for the stinkiest perfume they had. She looked at me like I had 3 heads, but then I explained to her my dilemma.

So she happily showed me a section of stinky stuff. I bought 4 bottles. When I got to work, I found this other drivers truck. I got inside (they are all keyed alike), and proceeded to pour one bottle of stinky stuff down the defroster vents, then I scurried away.

He comes to work, starts up his truck, puts on the a/c, and now he's crying!

this went on for about 3 nights, and Walgreens actually ran out of the stuff I was buying now by the case.

He goes crying up to the dispatcher, who had NO TIME for us to begin with, let alone this guy's BS.

He says, "yeah so your truck stinks, so what, drive it!"

I had stopped when I soaked his passenger seat and dampened the drivers seat. It was a VERY HOT muggy summer, and he had the a/c on and all the windows opened.

I never told anyone of that, but a very close co-worker, and he laughed his butt off so much, he nearly ran into the shoulder.
