How can CR England be "nit- pickey" when they have a 198% turnover rate? Also you want to talk about common sense? You are still working for England being forced to "lease" a truck with a weekly payment of $450-$500. You are paying insurance at $240/ wk. You are making $0.80/mi deadhead and $0.90/mi loaded. The average weekly mileage for a team "with the current economic conditions" is 4100. So let's go all those are loaded. That's $3690.00. Now, the company takes $0.14/mi off the top. That's $3116.00. That $0.14/ mi is for a so called incentive that you'll pay yourself at the end of your lease (get the wording right?). Then your maintenance fund $0.07/mi. Now you're down to $2829.00. Next is the fuel tax fund of $0.03/mi. That brings you down to $2706.00. Now truck payment. Let's be conservative and say $475.00. That gives you $2231.00. And insurance of $240.00. Now you're down to $1991.00. Okay, now let's get the fuel. We'll use a nice (generous) average of 6.5 mpg. That would be 683 gallons for 4100 miles. Fuel is (this week) averaging $2.70/gal. That's $1,845.00 in fuel. So you're grand net pay is $146.00. And all that money that England is taking off the top WILL stay in their pockets. Now, where's the common sense??

A couple weeks ago I stopped at the Love's in Barstow, got parked and was watching a CR England L/O trying to get his rig into a stall. After 20 minutes I had to get out and offer to help...his response: "I have only been solo for 2 weeks, my trainers let me back up 3 times during the whole training, and I am exhausted I have been driving from West Sacramento...(for you who don't know...that is 406 miles total)...after trying to guide him into the hole, I finally offered to park it for him...plenty of room slapped it right in without a pull up...

We were talking after this and I asked him what his tractor payment was...(brand new Cascadia...odometer showed 1300 miles)...he showed me his contract...925.00 per week....don't think he was taking any money home..so I bought him his dinner and some snacks for his run in the morning. Sad, he was a real nice kid...really frustrated on what he had been duped into, and now stuck for 5.5 years.

Unfortunately, they only receive 1 week of training at the schools. Then they are put with a "trainer", who just needs an extra log book because they are trying to make what little amount of money they can.

Really, some of you people need to really understand CR England's program and them comment about it. As for the kids saying "well, I can do that or that" Yeah OK. But the deal is England hires a lot of people from very poor areas that haven't seen a big truck up close before. More than likely, they will be poor, on welfare, unemployment or way down on their luck, if they aren't a ex-con. Half will have never driven stick before.

    Chew on that for awhile.

The training (slave labor program funded by your tax dollars) is horrible. Some trainers don't know how to scale a load. I know, I started out with England! I was hungry #### it, but really, they have trainers at the school that shouldn't be training, trainers on the road that shouldn't be training, and the few #### trainers that should be training at the school get griefed for not passing everybody.

Just remember, what is easy for you, might not be easy for someone else. You've all had your blood pressure taken before, but can you do it correctly and know what you are looking for?

I still can't get passed personal responsability. I don't mean to sound harsh, it is just people make a choice to go to england.
I am still a newbie, when I first started looking at becoming a trucker I first fund the CREngland website and it all sounded good... so I applied online and they called back within only a few hours and were going to get me on a bus that Saturday, just a few day away.
I was like whooaaa there, this is a big decision and I need a bit more time. So I started my rsearch and almost imediately found this site and many, many, many complaints and warnings about CREngland.
I was bummed, because, I really wanted to get into trucking. So I had to do more work to figure out how I could. Then I thought of Central, Swift, Werner, but, again, there were concerns, so I decided to work more and save up the money for a private school and afer school continue to try ad make the most informed choices and decisions about what company to get my training with, to drive for and all of that.

I know at first it was tempting, they would put up the money for school, I would be earning money, and so on and so on. There was even a part of me that figured I was smart enough and all to make it, even though so many hadn't.

Eventually though, I realized that if I want to seriously make a career in the trucking industry, then I owed it to myself to give mysel the best start, the best chancs for success.

I do not agree at all with the way England does business. It is just there is always so many that come on here and have the same story of how bad it was and all. What I would really like to know is why they made the choice to go there in the first place. Why they were expecting it to be different for them.

Well, I was nowhere near that place in the 90's so i have no basis for a valid arguement but you mean to tell me that England very blatenly and clearly said that? Like I said, I wasnt in the room when it was supposedly said, but I'm having a very hard time believeing that it was said exactly the way you said it. In this day of age, its mainly about trickin someone into doin somethin....

From what you heard??? Well, thats yer first mistake.

So uh, my own success that I have mentioned and explained on here several times has no credibility what so ever compared to all the other b**ch and moan stories "that you have heard", that you and I both know hasnt even been confirmed and that you and a bunch others are just taking what someone else said as truth? Tells me you only believe what you wanna believe.

But whatever, if you and whoever else whats to constantly keep questioning my responses for validity, then go ahead. Forgive me for saying things that you dont want to hear. My wife and I are making money with England.....plain and simple. Sure, we prolly arent gonna make enough to end up a billionairre, but we are making money.

See?? good trainers are out there.

Good correction!!! Maybe thats why they make the bottle so that no one has to smear it. Afterall, you dont want them usin a knife to smear it...they may hurt themselves or someone else....

Well, thats what they told us since they had more drivers than there was frieight, but frankly, I dont care. All I care about now and what I cared about while attending their school was for my wife and I doing the right thing and doing things the way they wanted them done so that our qualifications about working there never got questioned.

For starters, I wouldnt really say we were "forced" into leasing. I guess you could say it was in the same ballpark or so since at the time, it was either lease, or wait #### near 2 weeks to get another company truck. Right then an there, we figured that despite all the rumors that we had heard in the past, leasing cant be that bad. It cant be like bringin a knife to a gunfight, England bein the one carryin the gun. Without diggin out the calculator and verifying your math, I'll just take your word for it that some of those figures are correct....except for one thing. We dont pay pump price for fuel. We only pay a buck 25..... Our check that we will get paid for on tuesday is for about 3800 miles. I know, I know, kinda low, but for the last 2 weeks, our DM is tryin to keep us close to the Jacksonville Florida area for our long-awaitied hometime. But anyway, After everythings taken out, that 3800 miles will still yield about 500 bucks for the both of us for that week. Oh, and that figure is not counting the 300 bucks we got for detention pay and a hundred bucks we had pulled out from our downtime fund. Lot more than a hundred and forty-six bucks aint it??

WHAT?!?!?? I smell BS.... We did the same exact thing as he did and our lease payment is $508 a week on a 3 year lease..... Oh, and its on a brand-new, 2010 Cascadia, that had 1400 miles on the odometer when we signed the lease. One more thing, whatever length of lease he signed, you can get out of it at any time. The most that will happen is a "slap on the wrist" to your credit rating for not completing a lease and that you wont be able to work for the company as a company driver.

And Im sure you felt your last comment along with this one was nesessary for this thread, huh?? This thread is now complete with your generous contribution......

Just goes to show ya that in any given discussion, there always has to be "one guy" that has to make himself feel good by saying something totally retarded and has no use to whats being talked about.

Cornielious... Just an honest question... did you and your wife each make $500 + $300 + $100... meaning you each pulled $900, or did you make $900 for both of you, meaning $450 each...

$900 each would be alright, that is about $12.00 an hour... but, $900 for both is not very much, that is only $450 each for the week or around $6.50 an hour....

I am glad that you are pleased with how things are going for you and your wife at England...
