Hello to all, I have worked in the transportation industry in the past for several years. Due to the economy, I am seeking new employment. Since CR England is one of the few places I have actually heard from, they are sounding pretty good.
Now I have read many comments on here of a derogatory nature and I want to be clear up front. I don't have a CDL and never have had one. I would like to explore this as a career path.
Specifically, I am contemplating attending the CR England school and gaining some OTR experience there.
When I see folks making comments, I read generalisms but no specifics.
Having no experience with them, I am not calling anyone a liar, I just am trying to understand what you guys find objectionable...
I have absolutely no plans of getting involved in any kind of leasing program, if I go there it will be for the training and experience.
With all that said, here are my questions-
I have read that folks complain of drivers being fired, why are they being fired?
What is a realistic income level the first year? Last year I didn't clear $25K so bad wages ain't nothing new.
If a guy just wants to get his CDL and some OTR experience, is this a doable thing?
I am divorced and my kids are pretty much grown, so outside of my Yorkie, no one will miss me.
Is it possible to take my Yorkie along with me once I am licensed?
Thanks in advance, I haven't taken a job yet, I am hoping to get some sage advice prior to making a decision.
