lisyen nuked before you decide to get froggy and take a wild guess that leasing a truck will be easy asy putting your name on a peice of paper have at it but in all actuallity it isnt live and learn i guess but in all facts it is this there is better way to decide 4 yourself but dont whine when it gets tough i still have friends that work with england and thay are even having a tough time right now thay told me thay should have wayted to lease till they got some experiance

Dawg, I'm going to take a wild leap and think that he, like myself, was referring to the rambling misspellings and things you wrote that didn't make sense. I realize most of us here don't have PhDs, and that's good - I worked for a lawfirm where a millionaire with 2 Phds didn't have the common sense to be able to tie his shoes or check the oil in his car.
That said, I'm interested in what you have to say, but have a hard time understanding you - spellcheck is your friend, dude. Party on.Delirious Nomad Thanks this. -
LOL we cant use qualcomm comunication skills here? Isnt the company paying for all our poor typing skills? (rhetorical)

nuked who cares if the wieds aint speeled right its not a perfect world like most people want it to be but if you want to be stubbern and not take ant advice go head. there is one more thing the advice i got was from someone with the time in the trucking industry and ill be more than pleased to tell you what he said and it follows leaseing or being an onwer opartor is not that #### easy get experiance than sit down with your wife and way the pro and cons than if it is plosable than go ahead and sign but not from any company go to peterbuilt or kenworth etc to get your truck not a trucking company it can turn around and bite you in the ###.the man who gave this advice had more than 25 years experiance. think he knows what he is doing dont you?

Were you company or lease? When was this? Some things were changed by that lawsuit, and some things are still changing.
1 - I'm a lease driver, had a CB since I got in my first truck over a year ago. Also got a fridge and now have a microwave.
2 - Yeah, when you're late all the time you don't get the good runs, they can't count on you, but they have to have a little time to test you and learn that you can be reliable. They don't just give runs away. And news flash, lease drivers get priority, that doesn't mean they get cake walks.
3 - Ok, shutdowns never happen to me either,
4 - Neither do accidents, though I did have a student jack knife my truck while I was sleeping. Cost me a few days downtime, but my DM got me a loaner truck so it wouldn't be two weeks downtime.
5 - They may not offer you multiple choice, but lease drivers don't have to take a run they don't want. This is in part thanks to the lawsuit you mentioned. Lease is NOT force dispatched, and can run any route they want. Out of route miles are all yours, but they can't tell you no. And when your DM knows you are reliable, and they can count on you, they will get you moving and give you good runs.
The point here was not to turn down little runs, because there could be a great run at the other end of it.
6 - Yeah, my DM wants to argue over every day at home too. But this is simply a fundamental disagreement in priorities between my DM and I. Working on that one...
Yes, these are the most common things I hear from drivers who want to leave. One, just two weeks ago, complained he doesn't get the runs, come to find out he was late 7 times in his first month!
Like the man said, DRIVE. No, CRE is not a cake walk, its not a get rich game, and it requires work. Doesn't mean you can't have fun. But you got 900 miles to run? Run what you can, call and try to get in early, get there ASAP, ask to drop it if you're too early, don't waste time playing with 2-3 hour breaks just because there's extra time on the load.
Ok, I can't say I see $800 every week, and honestly I don't see how anyone can run 4000 miles a week. But before I went team, I was seeing an average of $500+ a week.
They are by far not perfect, and I don't plan to stay here forever (we are going to buy our own truck and trailer and run O/O when this lease is up). But for a jumping off point, a place to learn and gain experience, it's not that bad of you're willing to put forth the effort. -
ya know its just the simple fact is companies should have an ethical value towards its staff with the respect of each person not the fact of signing a lease or the home time of all its not hard to see or figure out that its not just england jb hunt or swift that peopl are not just a number or a peice of equipment. I did some looking into the lease program and i found that 1 piece of information to be true that i like to pass on to people and its this leasing a truck isnt foe a new driver get more than 5years to see if its right for that individual not what the company wants. look at other options (etc peterbuilt kenworth) before signing with a company lease program

CR will let you bring in a truck other than their fleet. Ask and they will let you do it to some extent. The main reason for the Fleece deal is that most of the drivers may have had some good credit, just not enough credit to warrant a truck. So they give you the option if you ask for it.
There is Warner Freightliner some 2 doors down the road from CR's doors. -
Getting ready to launch a lawsuit. My background is as an expert witness in the automotive legal field, I worked for 42 attorneys in the Philly area, and have a good friend with a large firm in Vegas.
The only agreement I have (as with any CRE lease driver) with CRE is that we litigate or mediate in Utah - easy enough, my friend's firm operates in Utah, and certainly isn't intimidated by the Utah/Mormon "machine".
The general basis for the suit isn't the variable mileage allowance, it's the huge inconsistency with governed speed of their trucks. Mine does 62 and crawls up hills, my friend's Volvo does 68 and has a different performance software profile, my other buddy's Century (ex-Premier Lease truck) does 73.
As an independent contractor, and as a separate business entity, CRE is required to follow Federal statutes aoutlined in the UCC and FTC doctrines where businesses deal with other businesses. In simpler terms, it's not only unfair, but it's against Federal law that CRE allows my buddy to do 100-150 miles per day more than I can possibly do.
We'll see what happens. Seems to me, it'd be easier for them to just turn my truck up to run 65/68/70 instead of stonewalling me. Their claim that the truck gets better mileage at 62 is insane, considering the amount of downshifting and throttle blips you have to do (to downshift) EVERY FREAKING TIME you encounter a hill that's more than a 10 foot rise...at 68/70, you have enough momentum to take the hill without downshifting, unless it's really steep.
This last statement isn't meant to ruffle anyone's feathers - many, many drivers, and people in other careers, seems to continually talk trash about "suing" someone, yet most have never stepped foot in an attorney's office, and many more don't even know the name of an attorney. It's just talk.
I can, and will, make this happen. Not looking to get rich, hit the lottery, live in Maui, etc...just looking to do my normal hard work on a level playing field.
The other side of this could happen where CRE just says "everyone's truck gets dropped to 62 mph". If that happens, I can't even imagine the number of people who would line up to turn their trucks in, plus CRE would face many, many more suits for contractural violations due to "unreasonable contract changes" with respect to the way someone has already been operating for a given time.
