I'm a newbie to CRE. Just out of training about 2 weeks ago and on my 3rd load. I haven't had any bad experiences personally but have heard a lot. I'm currently sick and needing to go home for medical attention. I'm not that far from my house and the only thing is, is that CRE doesn't seem to care. I'm a company driver and don't mind that they are forcing company drivers to team, so can't they give sick drivers a break? Did I make a mistake coming to CRE?

First, make sure you're dealing with after hours by doing a macro 52, explaining the problem/illness. If that doesn't immediately work (within 30 minutes or so), use Macro 43, which is a "medical attention en route request", and though I haven't used it, looks like the way to get someone's attention that you need to see a doctor.

4000 a week in a company truck at england with out a log violation is impossible. the company is that you can log 5 miles below the governed speed. company trucks are governed at 62 so logging at 57 and not all staes and situations you or anyone can do the 57 mph. heres an example 4 ya road constuction car acidents 45, 35, 25 mph areas. so if 4000 is possible in a company then go 4 it maybe in a lease but i dought it

I was able to go home. Kinda had to fight tooth and nail with afterhours about me going to the doctors, but in the end it all worked out. Got pheunoma so I've been off for a week to get better. Gotta get ahold of my DM on monday so I can get back on the road. Does anyone have any advise for a newbie like myself. New to the trucking lifestyle. Any advise would be helpful. Thanks.

Stay away from the groups of people complaining about every little nitnoid thing there is, no matter if you're at the truck stop, a shipper, a terminal, etc. Don't get into the age-old habit of complaining and whining - it keeps you angry and depressed, and brings those around you down, as well.
No lot lizards.
Smile when you're at a shipper or reciever, since the minimum wage forklift driver and barely-over-minimum wage shipping clerk can make or break you and how long you stay at said shipper/reciever. Attitude is everything.JustAnotherNewTrucker Thanks this. -
Thanks, that's very helpful. It's true about getting into the complaining and whining groups. Got into one of those groups in Burns Harbor at the hotel and I was questioning weather to continue or leave, but with the help of my wife I continued and had an excellent training experience to where I'm perfectfully comfortable driving and dealing with the shipper/receiver. Again Thanks.
