That was pretax net after all escrows (maintenance being just one) and all truck expenses were accounted for.

    Good luck,

    Jim

    Hey slodsm,

I'm looking for my first trucking job. I've had my GA CDL "A" since February. Who's your company? And, do they hire greenhorns like me? I'm 51 and got my CDL on my own. Clean record too. Thanks.

I am still considered a newbie myself but allow me to let the unlicensed future of trucking of the industry in on a little secret that anyone with a brain and a week of working in this industry will automatically know.

90% of the companies out there care about THEIR BOTTOM LINE, NOT THEIR DRIVERS!!!

If you are one of the lucky few that hit the truck driving lottery with the first job you took, congratulations, you are the minority. It takes a feel for the industry, a knowledge of what you want to accomplish, the drive to achieve it, and the persistence to not stop until you do.

Here is another tidbit for you guys. There are two kinds of drivers out there. The kind that give a **** about what they are doing and want to help others succeed, and the kind that care only what happens in and around their truck. To the 2nd kind of driver I just mentioned, you have absolutely no place in the trucking world. They came straight out of their momma's body with everything they would ever need to know already in their brains and you will never be good enough to share the roads with them.

Thank God for people getting old, cause it is about time those types of morons get off of the highways and the trucking industry will be a much better place for all of us.

To those of you out there that give knowledge away for nothing more than the thanks you receive in return, good on you, thank you, and keep it up. To the others, kiss me where I poop.

It's not a lottery. Do your research, then you won't get something shoved up your behind.

From what I have heard it seems the only way to make money is to be a trainer. After one week, 1800 miles, my son only made $70. So he is trying to get a student.

You do NOT need to sign a lease to drive a truck !! And if you do sign one, know what you are signing. Let an attorney , and or OOIDA read it first.

    OOIDA Media Thanks this.

I don't know how England does things but on their site it said for teams theyl'll pay 32 cpm but split which is pretty ridiculous but even at that rate (1800M)(16cpm)=288so even after taxes and paying back what he would owe for his cdl assuming he is getting it though england he should still have 150 even at 10 cpm that would be 180.. now like i said i dont know how England does things but something seems very wrong my boy beantown even says he has to pay the trainer wtf!!

lmao......you think 7 days off every 31 is not reasonable. Not every driver out there has no life other than driving a truck. Taking 1 week off a month still means you are working 75% of the time and you think this is not reasonable. So you must spend 80 or 90% of your life working and you think your 800......1000 #### even a 2000 dollar a week paycheck is good money...LMAO!!!!!! Guess I put a higher price on my life than you...lol

Umm....typical 40 hour a week job runs 5 days a week, wiith two off - that's 8 days per month, so not a real big difference. Of course, you have the house, the couch, the TV, and all of that with a 40 hour a week job (working in your hometown), but that's what you give up to be a driver.

If you're addicted to the TV and couch, you probably shouldn't become a truck driver.
