cr england training school in TX

Not yet unfortunately, while I'm sitting I get a $25 a day layover pay. I just can't touch it until I get on the truck and get my first paycheck.

 

While I do feel for the people who jump right into a career like this without taking the time to research what is going on, I can't help but feel that if they do get taken advantage of it is partially their own fault. I was unemployed starting August of 2011. I had all the time in the world to look at my options and used it.

The other carriers wanted to take too much of my life and promise it to them. Prime wanted a year, Swift 26 months, others more. Being unemployed I couldn't get a loan for a local school, and honestly, I didn't want to. My choices were $12,000 and $4800. Too much money to pay for something a company would give me free for the right amount of time.

CR England wanted a 6 month commitment. 6 months of my life doesn't hurt me. The pay on phase 1 is still more than what I'm getting on unemployment. And seeing as that is the case just based on that monetarily it works because I've been living on unemployment this far.

It works for me. That is the point I'm making. It may not work for other people. I researched, learned about the company, (And everything I learned from other drivers I looked at with the thought that if you have a bad experience you tell EVERYBODY, if you have a good experience you tell a few of your friends).

So far, my experience has been positive. I make it positive because I want to succeed in this industry. I'm not stupid by any measure, I can make things work for me. If in the end what I want doesn't line up with what the company wants from me I will move on with experience.

First pay check is supposed to be the second week on the truck. So whenever you get on the truck is when you actually collect the layover pay.

 

Well I'm on the truck now. Comdata card is active. My sitting around has paid me, after taxes, $95. Im rolling in it now.

Trainer is cool. Very laid back, let's me drive the way I learned, not too worried about doing it his way as opposed to the CRE way, seeing as the CRE way is what will get me to pass my upgrade test.
