They used to steal reefer units out of trailers and replace them with old ragged reefer units that didn't work. They would swap out tires and put old bald tires and rusty rims back on. Maybe still do that.

The humidity is so low, one can be comfortable in the heat. That's why people with lung problems move to Arizona and Nevada.

Yep, a young man named Mike Starnes started the company and it was headquartered in Memphis.

Says the guy from Canada where over 40 is considered a hot summer day. Ya'll must be roasting up there if it's 78. ;)

Yea...it's not just a marketing ploy.

I'd rather be in Tucson, Vegas, or Phoenix on a hot summer day with temps checking in at 100+ then DC, or FL on a 85 degree day. Humidity sucks in DC an FL. That dry heat is still hot but you get used to it, an without the humidity it's quite doable.

@Chinatown said in his post he just walked 2 miles an barely broke a sweat. Compare that to the 1 mile I just did. I look like I just climbed out of the ocean/pool/shower. It's not an "I'm outta shape" thing. It's a "That humidity sucks!" thing. lol.

With that said...I have a shower and an ocean calling my name.

    Safe travels.

Sirscrapntruckalot - Hello Canada. I still like you.

I see Swift trailers sometimes here in Mexico City. I would doubt that any U.S. trucking company would move to Mexico 100%. Many trucking companies in Mexico are leaving because of the insecurity (crime).
Too many trucks are getting high jacked. Amazon now uses convoys for their trucks because they get robbed WAY too much.

I'm sure he can think of a better reason to leave than that. That wouldn't even bother me as long as they didn't pay in peso's

England had a core business importing Mexican bananas in the thirties when Chester fired the company up until everyone figured out South American bananas were better . They’ve been in Mexico long time
