I put both of them on my engine at around 480,000 miles. It made a little difference to notice that it was a good move. I suppose if someone had considerably more miles on their engine and had never done this before, they would notice it more. Not that expensive and not a difficult task.

What's their damper cost? Is mercury filled a lifetime damper or do they go bad eventually?

Right, I just bought a damper from Haney about a month ago. It really smoothed my engine out, had over a million on the stocker. Cost was $495.00 plus about $40.00 for shipping. Was just curious about pitts power damper..

The stock one for my Cat is $450. Dang. No cheaper alternatives? I've got 1.2 mil and would like to change it out. Thing is it would take me another 20 year to get another 500k on this truck. Don't really need the best one out there.

Reason I bought from Haney is the vibratech dampers are made by Americans by a company known for quality. CAT outsources dampers to be made in China with questionable quality silicone, not to mention the fact of any labor savings they garner from Chinese slave labor is obviously not passed on to customers. Pittsburgh power damper is probably good but they are so overpriced on everything. I got burned for big bucks on a pair of their re-branded free flow mufflers.

PP dampers and the Vibratech dampers are same things. All Pittsburgh Power does it resells the VIBRATECH dampers. I know because I bought one from PP about two years ago before I learned I could buy one from Mr. Haney.
