    Is this crazy?

Was sent AND confirmed the wrong address so we got sent to some podunk South Carolina farm residential neighborhood. Lucky to get out. Real address was still podunk and a tiny warehouse. Had to back in, take one bundle of plywood off, pull out, forklift dropped bundle, then back in. Repeat 10 times. Next load was to pickup at CM Lumber which had something like 20 load spots in a big lot. Forklifts flying around. Looked chaotic but they actually moved a lot of trucks through there pretty quick. At one time there were 7 Maverick trucks all loading at the same time.

That load delivered to Lowes where we unloaded, then truck wouldn't start. Something in the fuel filter system leaked. (truck has 65k miles) Service call took three hours, cancelled our pickup, and wait.

    ... to be continued...

That would be a bad week for us.

My first stop for the week I had to load my self. Most of the time I just help someone else giving them a push on the dock leveler.

Day 2 of my week I blow out a trailer tire. I was about 3 minutes from a TA so sowed down and kept driving.

Last night we got stopped at a weight station and had a Level II. I slept through part of it and the inspector scared the crap out of me when I woke up. We got a warning for to many of the LED's on the tractors brake lights were out.

    ...the rest of the story...

So the service call mechanic was nice enough and seemed to know what he was doing. "rigged" a fix and I think the truck runs just slightly off compared to before. Trainer and I haven't discussed in detail yet. Focusing on eating then bed.

BUT...the icing on the cake is that we were sent to another pickup even with little time on the clock. Loaded way late and we'll be sleeping at the steel plant. Dusty, loud and everything fun that a steel plant is.

And it's only Thursday. And we have a preplan that MAY get us home (and by home I mean a hotel in Oklahoma) sometime on Saturday if it doesn't fall through.

So how does that rate on the scale of crazy? Cuz if I don't get some family time next week I might be hitting the wall.

Welcome to trucking! Promise that if you stay fixed on making it home that you're not going to last in this industry very long. Once you do get your own truck at Maverick, they will let you take some extra time off at home your first time, just have to make it that long. Training is the ultimate test, not only to show that you can make it but also that you're willing to do what it takes to get the job done. Promise that it will get easier. And that you picked a good company to work with. Stay safe...
