You should be able to drive solo as a company driver but if you bring your fiancee with you, you'll have to pay a small fee for the insurance to have her on the truck.

So you currently work with CR? i have read all this #### talking from tons of people here about all the truck driving schools... and kinda came to the conclusion that these guys were either doing the wrong thing. or not focused or some random crap happened. what are your thoughts about the company as a whole as far as getting good miles the DM's and whether the company itself is honest or not

Well, they must've changed that, then. At one point, you could bring a passenger, you would just have to pay a little bit for their insurance policy to cover them.

Maybe somehow i misinterpreted what he said... what about two people of course very business minded going to do the lease option together.. you think that has a better chance of being more profitable seeing as they can drive many more miles

Theyve been good to us for the most part. We're on our second DM for leasing because the other one went to being a training coordinator. The one now still gets us good miles, sometimes more miles than we want if that makes sense.

Theyve also been honest with a few things that have inconvienced us, but no company is perfect. The office personell still get their wires crossed occasionally. But all in all, I dont necessarily regret leasing with them.

I would think so. My wife and I arent the perfect, business-minded couple but we make plenty of money. Granted, we dont have a house, lost that long before we decided to go to England so its nice to not have a house sitting somewhere that still has its expences to pay for. We normally average 4500 to 5000 a week. We could do more, but we really dont choose to run that hard if you can understand that as well. We just paid off one of our vehicles and erased 3 old credit cards with the help of our tax refund and the downtime fund.

Yeah i have been tryign to get my fiance to do it with me.. however she is a bit nervous about the complete change of life style. and yeah i understand everythign your talking about. i would prolly run as hard as i could. im a typical young ex army guy that is full of motivation and energy i was hoping that my drive could keep me going long enough in a lease, cause im sure i would convince my fiance to do it with me eventually. and one thing i just realized too.. we have our dog.. i think that may be what i meant when i said you need to be a Leaser to do it. prolly to bring the dog along with me

eddie i also work for england and i think it is very hard to run solo and be profitable on a consistant basis,,, if you could team and take your dog on a leased truck then i think there is no question about being profitable "consistantly",,, if your goal is to make this a long term buisness then try to think about doing what is called a short lease,,, its a truck that has maybe 300k miles and has been run by someone else and eather turned in or failed in there lease,,, getting it under 15 months on the lease will give you the time to save and get award points for the down payment,,, it is possable to own the truck 18 months after the lease is up,, also getting the older truck ie 2008,2009 then you wont have the added cost of the emmitions on the 2011,,, it is a life changing desision to truck for a living but for me it has been great. not always easy but sounds you like a challenge and as with anything you will get out of it what you put into it,,,
another thing to think about is you said child support etc,,, think about your bills and if you can start a reserve it would be better than jumping in with both feet,,, the school, the training ,, and also getting used to a dm and running can take a little time to be consistantly profitable,,, just my 2 cents,,,

yeah i would really like to team with someone however i dont know anyoen that is willing to do it with me... so im thinking worst case scenario, i try the leasing solo and if i cant manage it alone i ask the company to team someone with me or do the phase 1/2 training and get the extra income that way. what do you guys think would it be possible to go from solo leaser to team leaser and would that be a smooth transition? or should i just tell my girl to stay home and be a company driver

Cornelius I dont think you can fairly say that just because they have more lease trks on the road vs company trks that their lease progam is working I think we need to look at the lease completion numbers.
