What u trying to accomplish with creeping around is keeping your 14 hr clock from moving.. so if u show up at shipper , and 1 hour into It they want you to move.. or u get loaded and need to go back to scale. If you creep around u could be in sleeper berth the whole time .. or lets say you park at a customer overnight, u can creep around and never have to start your clock until ur unloaded... then u log some on duty time and roll out.

otherwise starting and stopping going on duty and drive time destroys the 14 hr clock .. since your clock is constantly moving instead of being stopped.. by the end of the week the creepers will be a full day ahead of someone that runs into the 14 clock everyday loading/reloading

Used to take empty cans into a place in Austin IN. From the guard shack to the receiving office it was about 3/4 of a mile. There was nothing I loved more than passing a creeper on the backside of the building and watching them get their panties all twisted up. Or passing them going back out to the guard shack.

Verbal warning: the company pretends to be angry & the driver pretends to be sorry. Don't do it again.

The content of the conversation matters. So it's impossible to tell you the REAL meaning of what happened. Just don't give the same people another excuse to punish you.

Ran out of drive time. Requested pc prior to leaving the property I dropped a load at. Drove my drive time, pulled over to use PC to the nearest truck stop. It was turned off and was left on the side of the road with no PC and won’t be granted PC

If someone starts at 4am then you’re out of HOS 6pm. Seems like the you need to try split sleeper if that even possible. If that’s not possible they need to reschedule the load. I liked when I could call dispatch and tell them the messed up and need to reschedule or get another truck. I was doing regional driving 5 and weekends at the house. I had guaranteed minimum pay. So I did not mind if they had to reschedule a day later or more. I’m getting paid to sit at that point. They did not like it so it was a problem for them.

Sounds like dispatch did not plan the load out correctly if you started at 4am then have 9pm delivery. Unless they said something like you could have started at 12noon or 2pm it all depends on on what you were doing or split sleeper. If I messed up then I would use PC like others said. You went to Toco truck or something. My company let us go 30 miles on PC no questions asked.

It was kinda fun calling dispatch and telling them their planning was wrong. I have ELD and can’t legally do what they are asking.

I had load going to Chewy and it was 5 hours late. I called dispatch before to let them know shipper was 5 hour late loading truck. They called Chewy said they will still take load late. When I arrived they refused the load and next appointment was 7 days later. My company had me drive 300 back to their drop yard and another driver would deliver the load. The load was only 600 miles from pickup to delivery. I got 900 miles out of that load. Ha ha all running legal because of ELD.

If it's not in writing, it never happened, and they can come back and say that you have had numerous verbal warnings.

I personally wouldn't worry about a verbal warning

They need to document something to show DOT they’re self policing themselves, If audited. You’re this weeks fall guy. Everyone’s happy. Except the Truckdriver of course . It’s nothing. Big nothing.

How much remaining drive time did you have when you left? Did your company give you a reason for denying PC?
