I started with Crete in January, and they have great shippers/customers compared to Swift/Knight/Interstate Dist. !!! I havent had to drive into a retail store or mall... Another bonus-most loads are drop and hook... I have alot of good things to say about Crete so far... I did have a nice ordeal at the Wilmer yard though, all I needed was an A service, but it took ALL DAY. Oh well, I will remember next time (plan better where it doesnt cut into my time the way it did)... DRIVE SAFE

Can anyone tell me...how can I find a list of schools approved by Crete? I'm from New Jersey and currently attend Smith & Solomon School. They are a fully accredited 160 hour program. Any input would be appreciated as I can't find anything on Crete's website.

Call the recruiting dept. If your school isnt on their list, it might be worthwhile to keep checking back with them. My school wasnt on their list at the beginning of my term. It wasnt until the 2nd day before graduation that I heard a Crete recruiter was coming in to speak to us...but I thought our school wasnt PTDI certified! Well, I guess it changed within those two days. It was the luck of the draw getting on with this company. I was about to go with CFI, but that didnt work out, so I pretty much just stumbled into getting on with this comapny. Anyway, good luck to ya!

I must say: Crete pays very well. If you have experience, start at .41 to .47 cpm..... with very good pickups and drops.... I dont know why anyone else cant pay this well, and haul the same freight.... I get passed by 70-75 mph trucks on I-80 all the time thinking, I'm glad I'm running LEGAL at 65 mph making .47 cpm enjoying my job.... I used to run as fast as I can and always fudging my logs trying to make the most of it.... GO CRETE and Drive Safe:biggrin_25525:

If you are from the west coast, like me. Plan on staying in the East. In the past 4 months I have been to California once. Mind you I live in San Diego.
When I want hometime in Cali, it is always a fight. I have taken a couple hometimes in Indy without any problem getting there.
I have spent more time in Maryland,NJ and NY in the past 4 months than my whole 4 years of driving with other companies.
It seemed for a while everytime I got to Texas and thought I might get to run west, they would send me to the northeast. So, I called the Texas dispatch and he told me that only people taking hometime get to go to the west coast...which is weird since we have 4000 loads a month going to Ca,Or,Wa and only 3000 drivers. How many could be from the west and going home to deliver all these loads.
I will let you in on another secret, he told me they ignore destination request unless it for hometime. and LOAD SELECT, not much selection when they only send you one offer, which is the norm.
If I am disapointed in CCC for anything it is that. I thought that I could have better control of where I go and that is a large part of why I came aboard. But when you only get one load offer...you go where they want you to.
Still, CCC is better than the others I have worked for.:biggrin_255:

Since January, I have gone to MA,ME once and NY,PA twice. Mostly TX,TN,KY,OH,IN,NE,MO nice flat land... Im from Portland OR so I come off hometime and go straight to the east or midwest and stay there until I put my hometime in. I was a week late for my hometime this week, but it wasnt that big a deal. :biggrin_1square7:We always stay out 40-45 days and come home for 4 days. Crete seems to have a hard time with getting us home on requested days. If we want to start days off on Fri, then they get us home Sat.,ect. It never fails we get home the day after we request. So we now take day 5 off and we get our 4 days. Always schedule doc, dentist, important business, ect. on second or third day off. HA! So far this plan has worked.

Do they train their new inexperianced drivers. Do they take on inexperianced drivers? How much do they pay newbbies? I just went to their web site they have a terminal in Tolleson, AZ about 200 miles away. Do u take your truck home or if I worked for them would I take the truck home being I'm 200 miles away?

    Thank you
