The last week has been a nightmare for me.
One short load, 200 miles to a factory that was already closed for the holiday, then a 18 hour wait for Lincoln to tell me to tcall the load.
Then a few hours to wait for a load offer I couldn't run, and refused.
Then a GOOD LOAD sent to my truck while I was sleeping, but cancelled before I woke up.
Then a 175 mile run.
Then an overnight wait for a load that went 900 miles in 4 days.....when they beeped me my 'load was ready', the shipper told me 'tomorrow'.
Sat overnight again, shipper says 'tomorrow'
Lincoln cancels that load, gives me a 500 mile load.
Delivered that, sent for a 400 mile load, that was going to a totally different state than Lincoln had in the load info.
Another wait for an hour while they changed the info, fuel stop, etc.
Then sent to pick up another 500 mile load, got to shipper, told it would not be ready until the next day.
2000 miles a week the hard way

OFTOTR, I feel your pain. I had a great 12K March, but suddenly fell into a black hole in April. Everywhere they send me, there's no freight or option to tcal. After I deliver on Monday, I'll have only 1300 miles so far for the whole month.

Sitting in Lincoln. Finally got my side skirt replaced on the truck. The body shop guys are fast! Called ahead that morning and they had the panel painted and ready for me when I got there a little after 1300. Slapped it on, adjusted the front skirt and had me out by 1400 or so. Now if the shop guys can get to it, the axle cap gasket should be a quick fix.
Took the Holiday Inn shuttle to downtown but didn't realize the buses stop running at 1800! Happy cab ride back to terminal = $16. Gonna venture down to the El Potrero for lunch. I wanna see what these corn fed Huskers call good Mexican food -
My passenger side window and lock just up and quit working. Yay International!!!

My windshield wipers just quit working in mine at the beginning of the week. Two days and two shops later they finally just replaced the computer at the International dealer in Peoria. No problems now, but not how I wanted to start out solo. -
Don't feel bad, y'all....Friday morning at 0505, I did a stupid.
Yup. A preventable. Bobtail, no less.
Crushed the left rear skirt on my tractor after forgetting about a retaining wall, about 8" high, right next to me before I turned left to exit the location I was searching a trailer for. Not in a hurry....just paused to verify my numbers right next to this thing, and 2 or 3 minutes later when I figured my trailer was at location #2, I simply forgot about this little wall.
Feel like an idiot. Still done 1667 the last three days. Sitting in Cincy now, at the customer. 0600 delivery. -
So I'm in KC again. Anybody here?

So far my month has not been too good. Currently sitting in dusty gravel at Dollar General in Scottsville, KY. Waiting 29 hours for my appointment time! Immediately upon receiving the pplan, I had requested my AM please try to get an earlier appointment (I had called myself, but DG told me that dispatch had to call). I got the usual dismissive response from my AM and pretty sure she didn't' even attempt to reschedule. I wish there was more to do in this town. -
Hey Ralph....Have you ever thought about moving over to FCC (Freemont Contract Carriers) ? I have a few friends over there and they are pleased with the miles/driver managers. Ya it would be a drop in CPM but the miles driven would make up for all the wasted time/poor-planning at Crete. FOOD FOR THOUGHT
Ralph4159 Thanks this.
