Correction to my previous post. Current run is from Sioux Falls, SD. Camped at the Pilot in Austintown, Ohio. Gotta deliver to the University of Connecticut in Storrs, Ct Monday at 07:00. Probably gonna stage at the Rest Area at Southington cause I don"t see anything closer that is free. I sure would have liked to stage East of Hartford. Just can't find anything.

You can take a leave of absence for up to 30 days I think. But you will probably have to turn in your truck. Or you can quit and be rehired pretty easily if you don't go work for someone else. According to recruiting, there is no limit (within reason) to how many times you can do this as long as your numbers are good.

FYI...the Pilot on I80 @ 223 (Austintown, Ohio) has a Wingfoot. I was able to get Breakdown to ok them for a Trailer T-1. In and out in 20 minutes. Seems like this is our primary fuel stop up this way.

I will be going on leave in 2 weeks. So far it's just been "let them know" and not much coming my way as far as information goes(typical). My asst. terminal mgr asked how long I had been with Crete; two years. Then he said 90 days. I was told by another driver if it's more than 30 days they pay you disability but I am sure that's medical leave.

I am so fit to be tied right now! Sitting at WallyWorld in Ocheleta, OK. No mt's until 2100 or so and was told there are none in the area. Nowhere I can bob to for a load yet there's another Creten whom got here after I was here who came in with a preplan. He's gone bobbing over to his shipper while I sit here along with two other Cretens who were here before me:biggrin_2552:

I ran into that at the Wally in Tomah, Wi a couple months ago. I ended up with a reset.

I took a leave of absence for two months. I was told that was the maximum I could take under my circumstances. I turned in my truck before taking leave and took a rental car to pick up another one from a driver with medical conditions that was unable to drive longer but had the truck at his location. My terminal manager in Greensboro was very cooperative working with me during this leave time.

I had no idea Crete had that type of leave policy. Does your health insurance immediately turn off when you leave? Also, is there a delay period when you return and have it reinstated?

I was told, by another driver, that insurance premiums are accrued and taken out when you resume driving. I intend to ask them if I can pay it forward when I contact them tomorrow.
