Well longbow never said I was pulling a shaffer reefer. See unlike you I ran the sterling walmart and am qualified to comment on it unlike you. When you did go to sterling to run their walmart stuff you actually pulled walmart trailers. Sometimes it would be a dry walmart but most of the time it was a walmart reefer. Just depended what load they assigned you. But never a shaffer trailer

And if you work at a Walmart store for a while, they pay nicely for longevity, considering most of the jobs in a Walmart store are entry level.
I don't have a clue what Walmart pays the companies that supply the products, but I would think the company selling the products to Walmart
would have to agree to the price, so how is that Walmarts fault? -
Basically, WalMart would encourage an existing company, or sponsor a new company to product a similar product. In either case, these potential competitors would be based off-shore, usually Mexico or China, with a significantly lower cost of business.
And that's the WalMart way.trucker43 Thanks this. -

I ran on the Crete fleet dedicated to Wal-Mart out of Bartlesville, Ok, never had to help out at Sterling but from what I heard it was poorly managed. Your second stop might be a Sam's store which did not see you as a priority like the Wal-Mart stores causing you to be late to your 3rd stop which was a Wal-Mart store. We are doing well with the Bartlesville and North Platte locations.
I made as much on the Wally fleet my first year 1/4 National and 3/4 Wally as I did my previous year on National even with the pay cut because of all the stop pay. My second year (1st full yr) was good but dropped a little. My last 1/2 year it dropped more and I went back to National. Part of the problem is Wal-Mart does realignments twice a year and your distribution center may lose or gain stores so your income fluxuates.luvtheroad Thanks this. -
I was just getting off the Turnpike exit at Topeka headed toward Salina Sunday evening, Aug. 29th when a Crete truck driver nearly ran me off the road. This was about 4:30 p.m. I had to slam on my brakes and run off the pavement to avoid hitting him on the left side of his cab. It was frightening and he just barreled on down the road.

And this was SO hair raising that you took the time to find this forum, join this forum, and post this stupid trash for what reason? WTF?
trucker43 Thanks this. -
Good reason........

I don't know that exit off the top of my head, how would you almost hit the left side of his truck? I'm sorry for your experience, as I am also a Crete driver and consider myself very courteous.
