Blankety blank Blanken bunk air is out again! I'm going to see if there's an unassigned truck that I can swap to. Since they don't pay breakdown at your home terminal might as well swap out.

Not true, I have received breakdown pay at my home terminal on more than 1 occasion (lenoir city), if you aren't receiving breakdown at your home terminal and they refuse to give it to you go above there heads up the chain.

Each terminal does things a little differently (max days hometime for 1) if you have pay coming to you and your not on hometime while in the shop at your home terminal go over there head..it's your money..this is 1 thing I have no tolerance for (not being paid what is due).

This goes for detention pay also..I have received detention at most customers ( i would say less than 10% I haven't received detention from I would have to go through old trips and calculate actual % but I know I receive it MOST of the time ) I have also received detention at budweiser on more than 1 occasion..talk to the right person and you will get whats owed to you.

I keep very detailed records of all my trips/expenses/detention/short haul/xtra stops/lumpers..I don't throw away anything..going on my 3rd file cabinet at the house almost 6 years of trucking crap from here and my last employer.. I could tell you what i pulled/ where I went / what it paid and any xtra pay associated with it all the way back to when I started truckin (every trip).

Things still going well..truck broke down for a few days in Oregon with Def issues this month, already just under 9k miles for the month..MAY hit 13k for the month will see how these last 9 days roll

    Be safe out there!!

Had a deer try to Kamikazi the front of my truck coming across South Dakota a few days ago, 0330 2 of his buddies had just crossed and I guess it was going to keep up 1 way or another eased the brakes and it never tried to avoid me just ran balls to the wall across...had 1 in the middle of the road as I crested over a small hill in Arkansas last year o dark thirty in the AM..smack dab in the middle of the lane..That one was REEEAAAAALLL close, got a hard brk warning and stopped a few feet of the deer..####### didn't even take off till I was almost stopped.

You, sir, are very much correct. I called Wilmer and asked to swap trucks because I was under the impression I would not receive detention pay. The girl asked where on earth I got that. I told her it's what Reich tried to pull on me a couple of years ago (I never put my truck into the shop at Wilmer). She said "That's not correct and that person no longer works for Crete" I pitched a fit back then and finally got paid $150 for nearly three days of detention. It took going to a supervisor in the breakdown dept. (He took it to someone but I never knew who). The breakdown supervisor was somewhat perturbed at his staff for encouraging me to run with a load on July 4th in 105* heat with no A/C at all! He told me never to do that again no matter what I'm told. Thus the reason I'm not sleeping in my truck when it's over 90* outside and my bunk air isn't working.

So here I sit at home for the night. I have a good load running from near Dubuque to Dallas. It delivers in the morning so I gave my AM an option; stop early and breakdown can pay for a room or I can drop the trailer in Wilmer and bobtail home tonight. I'm going to head back in tomorrow and make the delivery then my truck goes into the shop. I still haven't heard back on whether they even have an available truck in Wilmer. A swap may still happen since they said they may be able to work my truck in sometime Saturday or Sunday to work on it.

EDIT: I actually hope they can fix mine. In SLC they re-flashed the computer and man it runs SOOO much better! Plus all new drive tires makes it much smoother as well.

Delivering in Nampa, ID in the morning. Never been to ID til now with Crete...any ideas on what my next load might be?

I escaped KC Tuesday morning with this 1388-miler. Aside from breakdown pay, it'll be my only miles this week, but I needed a bit of downtime anyway. Scheduling at home is causing me to stay out another three weeks (including this one). Taking a weeks vacation starting 6/9.

Did get a good break today, though. Stopped at this sadly-misplaced J in Boise for the night as I fuel here anyway. Seeing as I'm staying out this length of time, I ran out of all three of my Rxs several days ago. Luck has it that there is a Walgreens next door! So....upon returning home, I should have good sugar levels, cholesterol readings, and be somewhat personable.

And I ate at the little Mongolian grill behind us....not bad at all.
