If it makes you feel any better they sent me and 3 other drivers in 2 rentals to go recover trucks in CA from Wilmer orientation. Pretty sure I wound up with the best of the bunch and it was an 84 something with 410k on it and an airbag that had been destroyed from being ran into something. Spent my first weekend assigned to a truck but in a hotel.

That being said it was kinda interesting running the 10 at the speed it was meant to be run... and I was out of that truck within 3 months when they sold it out from under me anyways.

Saw that in my old stomping grounds in Alabama a few months ago. All Pete 579s are technically "mid" roofs. They're a bit taller than our current mid-roofs, however, and they do have 2 bunks.

I don't mind the black plastic, especially with red. Everything being the same color is ugly, IMHO.

Well I hope they switch over their fleet completely, I've had enough of freightliners.

Having a wonderful day in rainy Florida. In Miami at Winn-Dixie DC. Had a 1000 appt, it's now 1830 and they're still not done with the breakdown and counting. Absolutely ridiculous. Not a very productive day.

    Update @ 1900
Just went in and checked and they just got started putting the stickers on each pallet, said they couldn't tell me how much longer it would be. Unbelievable! I think I could have unloaded the truck one box at a time in less than 10 hours

    Update at 2000
Finally empty, only took them 10 hours, preplan for a1300 mile run . Oops, they just put about 75 cases of os&d back on my trailer. There goes my nice run. Some days just don't pay to get out of bed. Only 125 miles for all day, and I'm sure it will be noon tomorrow before I have this osd crap straightened out

Don't ever go into the Costco DC up in Washington just south of Seattle expecting a 20 minute unload time. You'll be extremely disappointed.

Have you ever been 10 minutes short on your 14 and think back if you hadn't done this or wasted time here or there? Today was one of those days for me. Unloaded in Ft. Wayne at 1300 and was sent a preplan that was to have picked up at 0830...haha wasted 5 minutes. I got another preplan about 10 minutes later..another wasted 10 minutes. Honest to God it took them 11 minutes to send the load info. By that time I had made it to the Pilot over by I69. I went inside to transflo paperwork..another 5 minutes wasted. I p/u in Muncie so I high-tailed it on down. Two of the nicest ladies running the warehouse and I was loaded in about 45 minuets so can't complain there. Send in my load info and get a beep. Well it's too quick for a "Trailer needs a T1" note or the usual "scale your load" note. Instead it's something about a citation! So I tried calling to see what-up another wasted 5 minutes! A bit later they send the "all clear- my bad" message. So I hit Indy rush hour on the 465 and lost some time there and then one wicked bad construction delay. All in all I was 10 minutes short from being able to make Troy, Il and my fuel solution. So I whoad up in Vandalia just to be safe. On a good note whomever this current trainee my AM is teaching did come through with a "delivery possible tomorrow instead of Saturday" so kudos to him! I'll be in Sapulpa tomorrow then hopefully Kim-Clark in Jenks for a d/h and a nice long weekend run....I hope so anyways :yes2557:

Miami? Since when did we start running INTO florida? I was under the impression that anything that went past the I-4 corridor got t-called @ FEC in Jax.

In any event, these ####### grocery warehouses need to learn how to sign "PRODUCT RECEIVED, SUBJECT TO COUNT" and cut us loose after pulling the stuff off our trailer.

That would be Sumner. Been through there literally dozens of times (majority of them while I was still with Swift)... only twice have I been there long enough to complain: once where the shipper screwed up the counts on he BOLs and once where I was 45 minutes late after being stuck behind a wreck on the way in. I'd take that DC over ANY Kroger, HEB or just about any other grocery warehouse.

Now see, that would make sense. And anything that makes sense in this industry is automatically subject to rejection. Or against some obscure regulation.
