First rattle out of the box and I have an overage! Back to bed till OS $ D come to work. I hate these stupid early appointments.

After getting a half impossible load out of Beaver Dam, WI (mainly because the New London, WI receiver took so friggin' long) I got it delivered today. Got here at 0700 for my 0730 appointment. No door available until 0900...BUT they want you to back in doors closed until they are ready...they will come tell you to open them up. They told me at 1045. When I got there at 0700 I had about 4 hours left on the 14 clock, since I had to drive all night to get here. They finished at NOON and do not allow you to park afterward. They share a staging lot with a cold storage next to them, though, and I am sitting in there. If I can stay here until 1730, I will then head for the T/A truckstop on I-95 (since I am sure there will not be any parking at the small crappy Pilot on I-64). The load picks up at 1130 Friday, so I will be able to go to the truckstop and still get a full 10 hours in and then go the 75 miles to the shipper in the morning. Finally something worked out kind nice (at least so far).
Finished this week with 2,587 miles...not as many as the previous weeks, but my goal is 2,500 so I am good with it. The new load is a good start for next week, too, as it is 1,409 miles. (Sandston, VA to Newport News, VA then deliver in Omaha, NE.)
Added: I just figured my average miles per trip for July. 1,419 miles per load, to date. (11,353 miles on 8 loads)Last edited: Jul 24, 2014
crappiejunkie and xlsdraw Thank this. -
Waiting to be unloaded at Darden/Maine's near Binghamton. Only 60 miles from hometime. Another Creten picked up at the same shipper and arrived right behind me at 11:15. They told her they didn't need what was on her load and to come back at 0200. She took that way more gracefully then I could have.
xlsdraw, GabeScott and crappiejunkie Thank this. -
What a day so far. I got a 0100 wake up call to back into a door. So at 0430 I get the paperwork plus 180 cases of Raisin Bran left on the trailer. I had to wait until OS&D came in to be told to take it to Lubbock some 120 miles away since there's not a UPS place in Amarillo
I get to Lubbock and unload the remaining 3 pallets and send in my MT call. "Head back to Amarillo, We'll dispatch you from there when the loads come off of hold" Sounds like I won't get anything till tomorrow. A whopping 378 miles yesterday and 240 today. Is it bad when you're counting down the days to home time when you just came out of the house yesterday?
TruckerJimbo, crappiejunkie, xlsdraw and 1 other person Thank this. -
Joe, there are times when I came back, and after a few days out in the traffic, I am ready for another week off. You are not alone!
Oh yeah, Raisin Bran...YUM!!! I might have reported 179 cases..... -
