Crete is on my last nerve....again...because I'm headed back to Pennsyl-effing-vania...again. I've been through this with them several times just this calendar year...if I wanted to be a regional driver, I'd do it closer to home. Aside from the occasional bone they toss me in the form of a Nebraska or Wisconsin load, OH/IN/PA has been it lately. And I'm burned out on them all. May be time to take a cut in cpm rate and opt for another outfit. I just get bored with the same crap week after week, which is why I'm not doing dedicated.

I'm sure you have but if you talk to your AM and your FM (who will get back to your AM) but then follow it up with a chat to the OPs Mgr and planning dept. They don't want to lose you and if your AM doesn't pass the word on you've done no good talking to him/her. When you get everyone involved at the same time the word gets to the right person. My last three times out I don't think I stepped foot into Penns but once and I was in and out and back to the mid-west.


EDIT: Plus you know how they "plan" so it really is a "luck-O-the-draw" but turn one down every now and then and see. My last run they tried to send me to Washington state when I needed to get to Dallas. I turned it down and viola, an instant run straight to Dallas.

 

just think of who had the pleasure of cleaning that truck, there could have been illegal stuff under there somewhere.yikes, i feel itchy.....

 

I think Crete SHOULD cancel all breakdown pay and detention. They need to be innovative/progressive and pay drivers (RDO-21 and up) a guarantee of $1200 a week. FINALLY then a driver would not feel stabbed in the back on short runs or being sent to places that require long wait times.

If that happened id put up with my dispatcher and go back.

 

I am back to work after my time off. they called me while I was at Walmart yesterday, asking me if I could pick up a load nearby this morning. I figured, since I was scheduled to return this morning, I guess I could. Turns out to be a 300 miler, not a good load as I was hoping...and to top it off, it delivers Wed morning in a cave in Independence, MO. I hate the caves...

I picked it up and am sitting in the parking area outside the cave now. Decided to do this, instead of heading for the yard, since they did see fit to actually pre-plan me on another load after this. I get to run up to Omaha after this to pick up a load for West Jordan, UT that delivers Friday so I can get it on this weeks miles.

 

Finally back to work after a week oh shop time. Load picking up in PA to KY then start regional route.
