yeah and then drivers will make up excuses to be lazy to earn $1200.
Oh the roads aren't safe.. oh I took a 17 hour break instead of a 10 hour break because my appt had an opened window.. etc etc.

I would, but a 9 cpm pay cut is too deep for me. We've actually PMd back and forth.

Now, I'm sitting at the Columbus terminal waiting for tomorrow at 10AM. They want a fasting blood sugar reading since I was put on Metformin last year. OK, good enough.

But this whole series of crap is about it.....

Getting close to my boiling point here. After losing 2 days with truck issues I got a 1300 mile load from Phoenix to Portland that picked up and delivered 4 days apart. This after I turned down a 200 miler to CA with a full day between pickup and delivery. The planners made it clear to me that there was no other option unless I wanted to sit for another day or two. I took the freight, delivered it this morning (0530 delivery, 4 hour unload time) and my reward for dealing with that? My 700 mile follow-on load was pulled and I get this to replace it:
    image.jpg

I guess I'm now expected to drive 46 miles, sit for 5 hours, get loaded, drive 43 more miles and sit overnight. I didn't realize I was expected to be a #### local driver without the hourly pay! After calling my ASSet manager and reading him the riot act for allowing the planners to screw me over yet again I turned the load down. The planners response? "that's it for OR freight today. Take it or sit until tomorrow."

I'm just about due for hometime and at this point I'm very seriously considering finding another employer when I get home. I expect occasional bull#### in this job, that's just trucking in general. When it happens on a regular basis is when I start to have a SERIOUS problem with it.

Which is why there are so many of us former Crete drivers around. Good luck.

Prime example of why these mega outfits can't keep drivers...I will never drive for any mega outfit again....just plain and simple...the bigger the company, the less competent they are.

They seem to have omitted the #### You button, which would have been helpful at this moment.

I live in PA and hated to drive the northeast when with Crete. I would stay out 5 weeks at a time in hopes to get a big run to the west coast. I would get as far as I35 then back to PA/NJ/NY. I now drive local for J.B. Hunt. mileage pay PLUS detention time. That adds up quick. If Crete paid you to wait at shippers and receivers, and they billed the customer, you would not be waiting 5 hours to get unloaded. I pick up loads all the time from shippers that take 3 to 5 hours to load me. No problem, 16 bucks an hour starting the minute I put my arrival call in.
