I see misery does love company. And I wasn't even in the middle of THIS one. But I'm sure they'll fire me back up shortly. Camped at Consignee in Portales, NM.

They sent out the idle time garbage and this time stating they're taking the gloves off. Probably since it's 3 weeks in a row exceeding their quota. My response was "47 hrs sitting in Los Angeles in the Summer waiting to deliver load."

Tell them the manual says the idle time goal is an annual goal...week to week is not important.

I had some warning lights go on as I was crossing Nebraska headed for Salt Lake. Breakdown sent me to the shop at the Walmart DC in North Platte. Bad injector, shop is sending me across town to Freightliner in the morning to try and get it done. Salt Lake load is t-called at the Walmart DC now. Things were going so well, now this...O well, the darn truck has close to 439,000 on it.

I just got chewed out for missing a live load that occured during my ten hour break. Sent me a load today WHILE i was talking to my Asset Manager, telling her I'd be ready in the evening. Why would I question it? I pick up a lot of loads after the PU time. Now I'm sitting around all day to do this 350 mile run in the morning, when I only woke up 8 hours ago. Why can't they keep drivers..? I'm gonna try calling my FM in the morning to demand layover pay, but I'm sure it won't work.

IDK if I'm just sick of OTR or Crete. They already majorly f%#&ed up my career with this CPAP BS. I should have stayed with USX, their new payscale is actually pretty darn close to Crete, maybe better for regional or 2 week guys. I think more than anything I need to get away from OTR period. This isn't a way for humans to live. Not to be treated like this with inconsistent pay. Don't really care what other drivers say about that. I'm 27. At my age, this is just too sad a life, you'd have to be crazy to actually want this.

I feel for you. I am trying to get my year of OTR experience here. Tough life for sure. Even tougher when your trainer finds pride in a 2 percent idle but makes you suffer for it...

I feel for all you guys that have to deal with the no idle ########! It's bad enough living in a truck away from home then these companies have the balls to tell anyone to be uncomfortable so the company can save some money, F that! I don't want to hear anyone say well when you have 500 or 5000 trucks it's a lot of money. F that, spend some money on APUs or shut the f up. The driver makes the biggest sacrifice at every company by living in a truck. Tell those fat ### executives to turn off the ac in their office and their homes and see how they do.

Sorry for the rant, carry on :biggrin_25523:

The trucks have battery powered a/c. But sometimes you have to idle to charge the batteries.
