After my time off. I came back to work on Tuesday the 12th. Picked up a load in White Hall, IL going to a cave in Independence, MO. Delivered that with not too much of a problem, and then headed for the next pickup in Omaha. That load went to West Jordan, UT and I made it all the way to North Platte before I broke down. Breakdown sent me to the Crete shop at the Walmart DC in North Platte and they sent me to the Freightliner a couple miles away. Spent Wednesday night to Friday afternoon being fixed up. They put me up in a cheap motel on Thursday night.
After getting the truck back, I picked up in McCook, NE and delivered it this morning in South Gate, CA. Asked for a new load and got one picking up in the morning in Colton, CA. This one delivers Sunday in Johnstown, NY and Monday in Lewiston, ME.48Packard and ampm wayne Thank this. -
Most forklift people will pry the boards up for you.
I sat most the day in North Platte, waited most the day for my load to Williston, ND. I had to edit out my PTI so I could make it to the truckstop in Valentine in my 14.
This place looks awesome, McD's for breakfast mmmmm. Party time. -
Well you guys should see the physical testing stuff I had to do today! I thought Crete's requirements was tough but here I had to do aerobics! I was doing the ol' Step Master thing like on the Buns of Steel video. Speaking of buns, today was the first time I had a very pretty physical therapist lady tell me to "squeeze your butt cheeks together"I was poked, prodded and bent in every direction imaginable but passed everything. They gave me a drug test and I knew them all...haha The safety talk here is life and death stuff though. H2S is serious business to them. I can't wait to get back in a truck and find out what it's really like. I did meet a co-worker who really likes the company and his job so hopefully all of this will be worth it. They're adding some more trucks as quickly as possible so I should have my own assigned truck and not have to slip seat for very long. Anyways, day one in the books!
