So, Shaffer would be up to 47 cpm? Interesting to see that they've realized only 1 penny isn't enough to get people,to,do reefer, lol.

If the Q/C is right and they raise it $0.04 now, along with the $0.02 Shaffer went up in April, I will be at $0.54.

If yall don't mind how many miles per week Crete Vs shaffer? And what are some pay checks like on both sides? Can I expect to clear 1100-1300 a week? If I run right? I have one year experience so what would I start at? I appreciate the the help in advance

Aren't you still leased on at UZ trans? you won't make the numbers you posted working there by being a company OTR driver anywhere lol.
Anyway it's OTR... there's good weeks and bad weeks.

As a Shaffer driver per being out every 7 days I'd say I'm looking at 2800 miles. I don't push myself that hard, some weeks I've had over 3000 and some less than 2500 miles.
However my miles are going down lately because of this terrible weather and my frieghtshaker keeps on breaking down :biggrin_25510:
I'm leaving here shortly because I'm done with being a company OTR driver but this place isn't a bad place to work.

IF I wanted to be a company OTR driver and make the most I can doing it I'd stay here, there's guys here over .50 CPM all miles and practical mile here doing OTR.. where else pays that? nowhere I know of.

Well im doing a straight lease where I'm at and looking to go back as a company driver for them, but I heard about shaffers pay raise and it got me curious. I'm going to STAY company until I have enough money to buy my own truck I don't want to lease, anywhere. The headaches are not worth the 1500 dollar paycheck. So, that's why I'm asking freightwhipper if I go back company at UZ my paychecks are anywhere from 900.00 to 1,400 a week. So if I can do a little better or even every week clear 1k I'll be GOOD. Doing the math at .48 at 2500 miles im there, so my question is are you clearing (or any Crete drivers) over 1k weekly. And the dry van VS a reefer.

I think every drivers net pay would vary widely.
Would depend on buying extra insurance, a flex spending account, 401 and tax situation.

It'd be easier to ask about our average miles per week, and how long and often we go home.

    freightwipper and 48Packard Thank this.

I will tell you what I've learned while here.

Crete drivers complain a lot because they gets TONS of short runs BUT a lot of drop and hooks and their miles are fine.
I am a Shaffer driver, get mostly longer runs... especially compared to Crete drivers. For example.. I just just got done with a run from Mass to Iowa.
Around half my loads are drop and hooks, more so at shippers.
However this is reefer and you know what that means, crazy appointment times. A lot of Northeast runs here but not always.
They're having a hard time keeping Shaffer drivers, dunno why but I guess that's why they raised their pay .04 and Crete just .02
If I could do things over again I'd do Crete instead of Shaffer, the couple extra pennies isn't worth all that goes into the Reefer lifestyle.
Some Crete drivers get a lot of miles and some don't.. I don't know why but that's what I heard.

Everybody has a different tax situation, that's not a good way to figure.

    T_TRUCKER• Thanks this.
