Don't tell me you have this Barb [IMG]

for an asset manager. I didn't know they allowed her to be one.

I think last year they didn't care if we got home for Christmas or not, but this year, every driver that wants to be home can.

Barb as usual is lying, they sent messages saying we'd be routed by the house for Xmas (for at least a "moment".)

    {or if we wanted we could stay out and sit at a truck stop for 2 days on a 300 mile load.} {}

I live in way Southern Indiana, twice, I spent Xmas at the Loves in Marion, IN, and for where you live, you should get home way easier than me.

    2800 miles and you're exhausted??

two of my three Christmases with Crete I was home all Christmas day. The one time I didn't get back was because I had just come off medical leave and asked to be kept running. Instead I spent Christmas eve and Christmas day sitting at the Indy yard because they wouldn't t-call a load and keep me moving. Of course the Indy terminal treats the driver as thieves and locks up the breakroom. I splurged for a hotel room across the street.

At my new job I will be working Christmas day but off the three days after. It's just another day for this kind of work (just like overseas) so it's expected.

I understand crete needing drivers on the road but if your not running then it's just a waste of time and if I'm sitting I want to be
In new haven with my girl friend and my family
    For christmas

I'm sorry but I don't. Any driver who WANTS to be home for Christmas with their families should be. Any company that would tell me that I WASN'T ALLOWED to be home for Christmas would be getting the keys returned and the truck cleaned out.

And I don't want to hear about the doctor/nurse/police/firefighter excuse. Even those folks usually work just a shift, so they still get time at some point in the day with their family.

This company has almost 6000 trucks. Sometimes, gettin everyone home on one day is like solving a jigsaw that's missing pieces.

They could allow more drivers to use earned vacation time during the holidays and that would eliminate some hassle to get drivers home on xmas day.
Don't forget, crete used to promise to get you home on or during xmas day, but not that you could stay there more than a few hours.

I've worked for companies that would pay you extra for working between december 20 and january 2.
One gave you an extra 50 bucks a day, and this was 15 years ago when 50 bucks was worth more.

Crete does not even give us any pay for a few piddling holidays.

These kind of benefits get chipped away until we forget they existed, or were normal.
