I think about leaving from time to time...
But I work for a high-paying company, that gets me out west (as in actually out west, not just up to denver then turn around and head back east), also gets me to NH to see my dad and some old friends, lets me take any route I want even if I need new fuel solutions, so long as the miles are close, and lets me run my own antenna and doesn't say a word about my "big radio" mounted in a non-factory location.
I can't seem to find any gig that would do all of that for me, so I stay here. It's not perfect, but it's far from terrible.

I haven't read any posts about anyone complaining about Crete.
So Crete must be perfect.
Or maybe if you complain, they take you out back and "council" you -
I used to drive for Shaffer back in 2011-2012 and i wasnt to impressed. The Money was ok but I didn't like much else about the Company. Turn up the Trucks to 65, get rid of those A holes in the safety dept, and it would be a much better company to drive for. And get rid of Jeff Hazelwood the Terminal Manager in Lenoir City!
tucker Thanks this. -
I was at KC today, enjoying the free wifey and wasting it watching Scott videos.
I guess our fearless leader walked through the lounge, he said "Hi, how's it going" I think. I thought it was bones without the Jeff Foxworty accent.
They said the old man was there too, I didn't see him.
He should get shirts made with his name on it, or at least introduce himself.
Git Er Done
Anyways, dispatch asked if I wanted to tcall my pos load and take a load to Oklahoma for the morning, but I'm sticking with this one.
I got empty Monday st 13:00, bam comes a preplan, a shag delivering at 22:00, past my 14 hours.
Next load, loads at 6 am Tuesday 84 miles away and delivers Thursday at 15:00 774 miles away, POS.
I been to this shipper, I ask if it's an anytime drop and hook, nope, live load, so I head 15 miles past the shipper to my favorite truckstop.
Get to the shipper at 5:30. My load is in a door and not yet loaded, it ended up being ready at noon, sure I got detention,
BUT, I could have went home, grabbed the load this morning and easily delivered it.
But, weather permitting, my "shed" is going up Friday!!!!!!!!!!! N. N n. NnLast edited: Feb 17, 2016

@supersnackbar
You would be better off at Crete, just forget the sleep apnea, Drivecam, micro managing everything, and the short loads.
Just remember the long west coast loads after you gave the 2 week notice -
I didn't have much of a beef with Crete but rather with the life of OTR. I work much harder doing local but I sleep in my own bed and can shower as often as I like...hahaLone Ranger 13, Air Breeze and tucker Thank this. -
When I'm home, I rarely shower, never shave, and usually fall asleep on the couchstungjoe Thanks this.
