Seems everybody's going out west.
Of course after officially turning in my resignation, they dangle a carrot in front of me, in the form of a 1450 mile productive load with 4 extra $top$ when I'm needing to get home, then to Indy to turn in the truck. If that isn't predictable, I don't know what is. All I can think is "you guys should've thought of that a year and a half ago"
So now I'm on a load from KCC Jenks to Olney, IL.

That would be everyone going out west except for us poor drivers who actually live out west. I'm due for home time in 2 days and they've been running me around the Midwest almost exclusively. On the bright side I managed to snag a rare trip to South Dakota... nice change of scenery and I managed to get $800 from the casino at the ND/SD state line. The follow on has me going back into IL tomorrow afternoon... Maybe I'll get lucky and they'll find me a west coast trip so I can actually get home close to my scheduled home time but I doubt it.
tucker Thanks this. -
I live in the Midwest and for the past year and a half, other than some runs west of the rockies, I've found it difficult to break out of the midwest for any significant amount of time. It's generally been out then right back.

Last load...New Albany In. -El Paso Tx. ....now deadhead to get ...Tucson Az. - Ontario Ca. ...first time out west ....since 2015
tucker Thanks this. -
I loved that New Albany to Soccoro load, I had it 2 and a half times eons ago.,
I took 75 north to 285 and got to 285 at 08;45 Eastern time, maybe a half mile backup there and I lost 2 minutes. Sure beat taking the back roads across GA and Bama. Heck of a wreck in Tuscaloosa earlier today,iraqralph43 and 4mer trucker Thank this. -
I havent been west of Denver this year. I wonder what being on that Cheyenne Walmart dedicated involves? They're even looking for drivers to temporarily fill in.

This Qualcomm elog update last year is hurting me, I went off duty in slow construction traffic, 6 minutes later I redid it to off duty, and the thing logged it as driving. Ugh, 596 miles in 10:17 hours, (the last truck had the MCP 100 and it was too hard to click off duty,)
Logs made me call them about my off duty driving on Saturday, it was 65 or 70 miles... She just wanted a reason so she could make a note
I spent last night in Midway Texas, they must love McDonalds as much as me, they had 3 in like 15 miles.4mer trucker Thanks this. -
PORTAGE, Mich. (WOOD) — Portage police are investigating a fiery rollover crash on Interstate 94 that sent two drivers to the hospital.
The crash happened around 3:30 p.m. Thursday on westbound I-94 near exit 75 for Oakland Drive.
Michigan State Police say heavy rain was falling when a Chrysler minivan lost control and hit the Oakland Drive overpass. The van then veered back into traffic and was hit by a semi carrying approximately 40,000 pounds of beer, troopers said in a Thursday news release.
Witness video shows the cab of the semi engulfed in flames. MSP say the driver of the semi, a 40-year-old man from Nashport, Ohio escaped the flames.

The crash shut down the westbound lanes of the highway for approximately two hours, leading to miles of traffic backups.
The right lane was still blocked just before 6 p.m. Thursday, MDOT reported on Twitter

This involved a crete truck today...Knucklehead619 and tucker Thank this. -
That unfortunately validates my attitude towards driving: always assume "the other guy" will do something stupid and plan accordingly. Glad to hear our driver got out and I hope all involved are OK.

I wonder what kind of beer it was?
And
Kind of an odd flame
