Much appreciated. Hadn't seen that before.

Spoke to a guy who got out of the Marines two months ago and joined Shaffer. He got sick of all the detention and low mileage that comes with reefer loads and told the office folks he wanted to switch over to Crete/Dry Van. They told him he has to leave the company and reapply in 30 days. The wait if you want to move from Crete to Shaffer? Zero. Don't need to leave and reapply in a month.

The guy wanted to stay in the company but they made him quit....

I spent a lot of today on the phone about the guanteed detention scam, its complete nonsense since I went on detention at 17:30 and at 12 bucks an hour I hit the maximum 126 dollar amount at 4 ish in the morning,
So I sat the til 16:30 and waited for an answer with no pay.
Donna hadn't ever heard of the guaranteed detention phrase. Typical woman, she did hear my impression of Tonn for a long time, LOL.
Tim Ascot's gal Darlene heard a lot, as did everyone else inside the Taco Johns at the Loves, we played phone tag and that's where we connected.

From the looks and sounds of things, there is probably a SHORTAGE of drivers at Shaffer and a SURPLUS of drivers at Crete.

God bless every American and their families! God bless the U.S.A.!

Just made my delivery out in Portland, OR. Was told to find a safe place to park while they worked on a load for me. Fine with me, I am tired and don't want to do anything today now anyway! 2,400 miles in for the week so far, too. Sitting at the T/A in Troutdale.

Got offered the next load...from Pasco, WA to Ft. Worth, TX. Picks up Thursday afternoon and delivers Monday afternoon. 2100 miles, but the suggested route totals 2200 miles. (If I take US 287 out of Colorado to Ft. Worth it cuts off 130 miles, but I would have to get a new fuel stop....)

There's that Pilot in Childress, Tx and a Love's somewhere along 287. Of course a couple of places right there in Amarillo. But there's some wicked wildfires right now in the panhandle! Dumas area was hit hard I think.

Is it a big deal to get a fuel stop changed now?

But why would you want to? I'm all for staying on the bigger roads, and when the bigger roads route is prettier, it's a no-brainer.
