I've never paid the cleaning fee, and I've had to clean 4-5 trucks here. They told me it would be $150 in march when I got my new truck. I seriously debated not wasting 4-5 hrs cleaning and just paying it and getting on the road. Driving 300 miles makes me more than the $150, and is easier than the cleaning. I didn't do that though, I spent around 4 hours making her perfect and turned her in. I could tell he wanted to find something real bad, but he didn't.

I turned in three trucks and never once paid the fee. When I was leaving and I turned in the truck the mechanic doing the inspection was also leaving the company. He looked inside, told me there was a piece of grass/weed on the floor (he tracked it in himself BTW) so i throw that out the door and he signed off as being clean. He never set foot beyond the front seat..haha

I turned in my final Crete truck at Indy a couple months ago. It was post-Donna and the lady that checked it out didn't charge me. Got home and found my ATA Safe driving/Accident Free pin. The next day some guy called me and said he didn't work for Crete but they contracted him out to hire back drivers that they didn't want to leave. I said if they reimburse me for the locks we'll talk. They never reimbursed me for the locks and the guy never called me back.

I'm sure Tonn would love hiring back former drivers.. especially if they were at top pay...driver quits at 53cpm on friday...hired back next week at 49cpm or less

Had a Navistar VP tell me that once at a endurance testing event in Corpus Christi. I told him it was nice to know what valued employees we were.
