ET, having read your various posts over the last two years here and elsewhere, your blind devotion to Crete is really something to witness. I believe you do your readers a major disservice by painting Crete in such Rosy hues.

Tax deductible, that's hilarious. So you spend $100 and get $20 back when you do your taxes. What a joke. -
Well actually I got it all back. My tax rate this year was 4.5%. When you learn how to use OTR trucking and the tax laws to your advantage. You will not have to come to websites complaining about frivoluous expenses the company did not pay for.
I'm not a CPA so I don't do my own taxes and collect $20. Sorry you did.
By the way, Tax preparation is tax deductible also.
luvtheroad Thanks this. -
Ok, let's try it again.
Quoting myself:
And as far as this statement goes
Anyone who comes to this company with similar attitude, ability and desire will experience similar results. Now, just because someone may think they possess such traits does not necessarily mean that it is so. I challenge myself to excel to the best of my ability in whatever I do, my experience at Crete is no different and my results are a direct product of that determination. My posts are only here to show that it can be done.
I do not set out to paint a Rosy picture, I simply share all of my experiences and do not hesitate to relate my bad experiences.
In every company there are always those that perform in the top 10% as well as those that perform on lower end of the spectrum. I will never be in the lower percentile.
Some may call this arrogance, I call it self motivation.ronnieb67, luvtheroad, knighton5 and 1 other person Thank this. -
Right on, some can handle it, some cant.
evertruckerr and ronnieb67 Thank this. -
Nothing personal, but look at the big picture. -
Hey ET, keep up the great posts...
evertruckerr Thanks this. -
Tax deductions do not equate to a dollar for dollar reduction in your tax bill. Deductions only reduce your taxable income. Apples and Oranges. -
I have been at Crete for 6+ yrs. The first 3 I ran National and since then Midwest Regional. Has Crete changed during that time? Yes they have changed, but what company out here hasn't? I run on the average of 5.5 days per week and last three yrs have grossed 50k at least every yr. I have been able to make that money running 100% legal ALL the time. My logs are audited all the time by the company. They match my log to not only toll and fuel receipts but also to my Qualcom location. There is no room to fudge when audited this way. My audits come out with no violations because I log it like I really run it. I have the entire weekend off some weeks and maybe get Sat. off on others. Like I said earlier it averages to 1.5 days home every week.Freight HAS slowed down. I dont like sitting so I do look on here how other companies are running right now to see if I can do better. I am sitting today in GA and have a load but I cant PU till tonite, but it goes thru home so I will still be home for my 1.5 days with momma. I read on here all the time about different trucking companies and am always looking for greener pastures myself, but so far, I have not been able to find a better gig than what I have at Crete. Yes, there are higher paying jobs. Yes, there are companies that will run you harder. But you will find it difficult to find the combination of pay and home time I get here. Crete is a little different than other companies I have driven for in the past. Your success here depends MUCH more on the driver. You won't get your hand held and led to the greener pasture. I highly reccomend Crete if you want a good driving job.

ronnieb67, luvtheroad and Red Fox Thank this. -
You don't like Obama and you don't like democrats. Fine. While you can like who you want, I have not seen what trucking company you like. You respond to many drivers on here but when I look, I cannot find what company you work for. Why is that?
Can you at least tell others where you work? It would add a little more to your argument.
