Crete Carrier - GPS

    is there any crete drivers here, do they have built in GPS units in the trucks ? if not any suggesstions about which kind ( rand mcnally, tomtom, etc. ) ?

    I don't know about crete but if they run E-logs I think some of them have GPS.I haven't used E-logs yet so I don't know but did see some Youtube videos on them.

    It depends wether the company will pay the extra to enable the gps on the elogs. I would still go with an aftermarket gps that way you can get locations for things like truck stops/rest areas, wal marts, etc. I love my rand mcnally 710. Trip planning, finding alternate routes, and following local directions is so much easier and I spend less time figuring out my routes. Plus I can predict my arrival times usually within 15 mins.

    thanks for the info.the only problem i had with rand mcnally was only able to get map updates only once a year. tomtom is every quater. has that been a problem to you ? and also does it keep up with your driving hours, on duty hours, etc. thanks again
