Crete Drivers Beware

Why don't this surprise me??

Crete is going down like a plane with no engine. They have absolutely done their best to screw everyone over from drivers to customers...it's no wonder they aren't worth the paper their name is on.

 

Wow that's very odd, had a fm once tell me the load I assigned wasn't there that it had Benn airlifted out, I went back and called and said i needed a dif fm haha

 

A recruiter is on commission for signing up drivers. Hell, they'll tell you your time off is paid for at the Hilton in Hawaii if you'll sign up. Dirt bag recruiters are with every company, if it's too good to be true, it is, period. As with any career just throwing your resume around will attract scum and no good leads just like the truckstop rags. Network with small companies and the drivers they use to find a good driving job.

 

I must be reading this wrong, the recruiter told you that you would make less per mile because you live in an area where they can't get you home right? This happened before you hired on, whats the problem? It's not like they're making you work for them.

And wait, then you signed on with them with a NJ address and are warning others to not to trust anyone?

 

4 days turn into 2?? What a 1 hour check in and 1 hour flight?

.38 a mile isn't bad either. That's right at $50K.

By the time you pay your own ticket and pay NJ state income tax, there really isn't much difference.

There's not many that will offer south FL drivers an option. They ought to be glad there is an option. Plus being up front with you like Meltom says?

Figure out what you make pulling oranges out of the groves and then do the math.

Anybody that trucks should live in trucking lanes. That's like being a shrimper and living in IA.

The company made a proposition (nothing more, nothing less), and left it up to YOU to think about it, and accept it or decline it. You have chosen to decline. What is the problem?

They did not lie to you or try to trick you.....they said, "we will hire you in your area, and get you home in 'this' fashion, and here are the parameters". You made your choice.

 

Yes and no. Any company has to have someone check out the MVR, DAC, CSA, past employment, etc of any applicant. Usually the person(s) doing that are technically in recruiting dept. True, a solid company doesn't need to use recruiters in a fashion that brings disrespect to the job, but they still need someone in recruiting to handle all the paperwork, do the background research, handle inquiry phone calls, etc.

To be fair, I think it would have been better stated "good companies don't have to lie".
