Crete, from one red truck to another

Another long day. Got unloaded at the Dollar General this morning and then got a load plan that was no good so I sent a request for something better and immediately got another offer which I took although I am trying to t-call it here in Ottawa as it doesn't deliver until 2300 Sunday only 150 or so miles away. Got to the terminal about 2130 and everything shut down. That is one of the few things that I have found to dislike about Crete. It sure would be nice if they had some way to just register our comdata card to enter a building or use the showers after hours. Going to try and get my B service done here in the morning.

 

Got my B service done and got some new rubber on the tractor in Ottawa and lobbied to tcall that load I had. Was told I could if I could get an empty and of course there wasn't any. After several QC messages and 3 phone calls I finally got them to get me another load instead of sitting 48 hours. Bobtailed back to Romeoville and picked up a load going to Minneapolis delivering 0400 tomorrow. Not fabulous but definitely better than what I had. Rolling on in today and seeing if I can get this load knocked off early.

 

Well ####. Plant closed up tighter than a frog's ###. Decided to order up some Domino's pizza and just settle into some baseball games for the afternoon.

 

Right at 3000.

Got a nice long load from Le Sueur, MN to Rockhill, SC, now just got to get loaded Been sitting here for 4 hours and still not at the dock.

 

Finally manged to escape the dog food plant and roll south. Routing had me heading back into Minneapolis and down through Rockford and Chicago etc. Checked out the mileage on the southern route through Iowa and came out with the same mileage minus the major constructions, big ### city traffic and tolls So I am sitting at Walcott, IA and hoping to knock out 600-650 miles tomorrow to sit myself up for a hopeful reset at home that I began lobbying for today, we will see.
