A pretty good day. Started off driving through some pretty heavy rains from Walcott through Peoria but things cleared up toward the end of the day. Made it to Corbin, KY for a nice 600 mile day.

No offense there bjnobear, but I know some idols with a PHD. Not including Maj in that statement. "Highly qualified" means just that. If someone is trained in education specific then they may be more qualified. Though it may not seem to be correct in some instances. Oops I hi jacked it.

I think there is something to be said for an education major, but the school of hard knocks is also a very good teacher. I know several subs in our district are very good teachers, but because they do not have an ed major, they cannot teach full time. I think that a persons whole life experience into acount when they apply for a position. I'll get off my soap box now. Just fyi Majestyk Vince the shop foreman in Gary passed away over the weekend. Keep us posted on Crete, and keep the dirty side down.

B.L.U.F = Bottom Line Up Front, when it comes to any government job it's who you know not what you know. I would venture to say that the "highly qualified" portion that Majestyk didn't meet was they (he and the administrative puke) didn't know each other or have a mutual friend.

Another good but long day. Got in 553 miles and perhaps could have done a little better but the trailer I picked up in Huntersville, NC had the mud flap torn off by the yard jockey catching it between the concrete stopping curb and the tire and the trailer license plate light wasn't working. I drilled some more holes in the mud flap and reattached it and then spliced up a broken wire for the light and finally got rolling. Made it up to Camp Creek, WV. Got just enough time to make it to Romeoville tomorrow to tcall or perhaps tcall in Indy as this trailer is over the due date for inspection. Load doesn't deliver until Friday night so no need for me to keep it until then. Shaping up to be a real nice week.

Bah, so much for being efficient. Had the best laid plans to drop this Chicago load off at Indy that doesn't deliver until tomorrow night and needs a trailer PM and to pick up another load at the yard. Alas, wasn't to be. Instead got a pickup at Quaker outside of the loop going to Gary for a 0730 delivery. So going to be getting back on the semi graveyard shift but at least ain't heading east before that hurricane blows through. Still a solid 400 mile day and got a few hours back that I will need in a couple of days so I suppose it ain't all bad.
Pretty big terminal here in Indy and yet no shower facility and can't get the company car after the office closes at 1700 -
No love for the wicked. Having to take an early break and pick up tonight in Romeoville and going to as SuperSnack put it "Unsocial Circle". Hope they don't take as long to unload. Routed down US41 instead of I65. 30 miles closer but 45 minutes longer drive. I may take it anyway as I have driven it a few times and the road is good and it will be a late night ride anyway. I like the back roads. Well off to nitey, nite land again already, #### I hate running at night.

not too shabby, only bad thing I will be in Florida with only 4 hours left on Monday and 7.5 on Tuesday. Supposed to be heading home around W or Thur so don't know yet whether to try a reset or just run with what I have left.
Well got another load that dropped the miles down a little but more hours to work with.Last edited: Aug 28, 2011
