A decent easy day. Got loaded with 14K pounds of empty beer cans:) Hours kind of set so I am aiming to get 8.5 - 9 in per day over the next two days after that short day at Philly made a reset not workable which is fine. Kind of relaxing when you actually only have to "work" 8.75 hrs a day. #### XM radio antenna broke right at the base. I trimmed the plastic back and spliced it together but no love. So been 3 days with no news from the outside world while driving along. Just ordered another one online which should be at the house when I return, couldn't justify plopping down 30.00 at the truck stop for another one.
Stopped at the Pilot in Williamsburg, KY (I75 exit 11) for the first time. A decent stop as a Wal-Mart is located next to it for replenishing supplies and it gets a real good internet signal which was surprising compared to some other places in KY which I have stopped at before.

Yeah I am missing it. ###### little wire. I was able to splice it up to the end where it plugs into the radio but it didn't work. Don't have any idea why it wouldn't but oh well stuck for another 9 days or so so have to tough it out.

Did you splice together both wires? The wire strands between the outer cover and inner plastics tube (which houses the actual line) have to be connected also. When I did mine it wouldn't work till the inner wire was touching and taped, and the outer wire strands were touching and taped. I didn't do the outer one first thinking that it was some sort of insulator/shield but I guess it's a ground. Has worked fine for 2 years now.

Thanks, I will take another look and see what I can do. Unloaded without a hitch in Cartersville this morning and got a p/u just west of Rome at the Temple Inland plant. Huge rolls of paper in honor of hindsey leaving Roehl:) First batch of those since coming here. Load delivers tomorrow night in Birdboro, PA (suburb of Reading). Told dispatch I couldn't make it and needed to drop in New Kingstown and that I could be there around 1400. After some additional explaining about hours remaining versus distance to customer they finally concurred that I was right and would need to tcall. So looks like tomorrow is setting up nice for another 500 mile day and my weekly hours organized fairly well for the following week.

I would always like to stand up for my fellow truckers but some of the stupid #### I see out here everyday just makes you wonder what some of these guys are thinking. Tailgating cars while in heavy traffic doing 60+ mph, blocking up fuel islands while they seemingly attend a buffet, being too #### lazy to throw their garbage away in one of the myriad of trash cans and instead just toss it on the ground beside their truck and leave it for someone else to attend too and on and on. For the love of ####### GAWD have some pride in yourself and your profession.

This Thread was a great read majestyk. Keep up the great work your doing for not only Crete but the Trucking Industry as well. I've got my app in with Crete now so hopefully will be hearing from them soon. I haven't been OTR for some time now so I needed a refresher. I did take some great advice from some folks in this forum and am getting this done on my own and not jumping on with one of the CDL mills or bottom feeder companies that require a contract for a year. Been in the refresher for a week now and the instructers don't know why I am there. I do have to say that I did need the log book and regulation classes because things have changed quite a bit since I have been out here. I do have a couple questions for you though. Do all Crete trucks have APU's . Can you run a fridge and TV off of an APU or do you need another power source?

    #### I hate when that happens. Computer disconnects just after I write a long message.

Big Cheese I think you are making a very good choice if you come here. They are certainly not perfect by any stretch of the imagination but for the most part they have stayed out of my hair and let me run which is about all I ask for the most part. I drove back in the late 80's early 90's so I had to do the "retraining" also which sucks but not much you can do about that.

I can't answer the APU question with 100% certainly, perhaps someone with more time in here can help you on that. I do believe all the trucks have some type of APU but not certain. Mine has the battery operated type which so far has served the purpose but you can't operate high wattage stuff off of it. I use a coleman cooler and power my laptop with a small inverter with no problems.

Dropped the paper rolls off in New Kingstown without a hitch and picked up my chains while there. I now feel like a full fledged Cretan with my tire chains:) Got another load from the yard heading to Fairless Hills, PA tomorrow morning. I thought it would be a Rite Aid load as I delivered to that suburb last week but it is another company right in the neighborhood so should be no problem. I decided to go ahead and knock out a few miles with my remaining hour or so of time. Stopped off in Lancaster at a t/s that is not in the guide, or at least I didn't see it. I have stopped here a few times and it is a decent place. Also a diner a little west of it that has some truck parking. Located on US 30 east side of Lancaster if you are adding things to your T/S guide. Also a BBQ joint at the junction of PA970 and US322 with some truck parking. I think I am becoming a Pennsylvania guru with all of the time I have spent running the roads here in the last two weeks. It's all good in PA, well at least until the black ice sets in:)

Lol PA is nice compared to, say, jersey! Lol of course some of them back road areas are a bit tight. Loved hitting a couple companies that were in BFPA. Lol. Only one way in and one way out kinda roads.
    roll on safely Maj!

Thanks bro. Haha, speaking of Jersey here I sit:) Down in Vineland and they sure in the hell don't seem to be moving real quickly to get anyone loaded. Fortunately a nice long run when I do get out of here to Missouri for the weekend.

I got the XM radio spliced up so that it is working for now, just got to avoid any bumps in the road, should be easy on these nice roads:))
