A fairly nice run out of the house. Picked up at the P&G in Browns Summit and heading to BJ's in Jacksonville. I delivered there a couple of weeks ago. Could have made it there tonight easily but appt isn't until 1000 and I didn't want to be sitting outside there waiting for 14 hours or so I decided to pull up at the J in Brunswick, GA and use my shower ticket that I think expires tonight or tomorrow. My son is now on the truck with me until the end of December. He seems to like it so far. He is 13 and my gawd I haven't seen anyone eat so much stuff in a single day in a long time and he is as thin as a rail:)

Bah. Waiting here for a while at a Graphic Packaging place in Middletown, OH and unfortunately heading to Carol Stream, IL. The son has been enjoying the trip thus far. Been introducing him to the music of my youth on Vinyl Classics:)

Unfortunately heading into Brooklyn, NY in the morning for a Monday afternoon delivery. On the good side should have a place to park so I can spend the day with my daughter tomorrow.

Well back on the road today after a decent last week. Had a load delivering this morning to a window place fairly close to my house so I got to do a reset at home from mid Saturday to this morning which was real nice. Caught up on some laundry and had some good cooking as well. Look holding out so far with the weather. Got a load out of Henderson, NC heading to a WM DC in Brookhaven, MS for Wednesday morning. Should be there by tomorrow night so shaping up to be another good week.

Sweet run today as I dropped my WM load off in Brookhaven, MS and got a load picking up down the road in Monticello, MS heading to Circleville, OH but not delivering until Friday 1330 so I asked to tcall and got the ok to drop in Lenoir. Ran the full 14 out and arrived just in time for a good 612 mile day.

Great thread Mister Majestyk. I'm a 10 year driver thinking about moving to OTR and possibly buying a truck in a couple of years. Looking at Crete because of their pay rates and freight base. But there are several concerns. My experience has all been deep south flatbed. Small company (500 units). No hassles. I choose routes. I pick fuel stops. I reset 70 every weekend. Easy as pie. Never worried about running out of hours in 10 years Never even thought about it. Never seen NYC! Probably get lost in there and never be heard from again. LOL. Barely any winter weather driving experience. You'd probably say I've had none. Now that youve been back in that game for a few months... Any advice? I know dry van shippers and receivers are entirely different than flatbed. It's a whole different culture. Culture shock.

Howdy overkill. With your experience you wouldn't have any problem getting out of the south. Hell the ice that develops down here is worse than the snow and cold weather in the north in my opinion. They are not too bad about getting in your business although they do tell you where to fuel. They give a suggested travel route but you can choose another if you like and I frequently do with no problems. The equipment is well maintained. My complaints are really minor things which don't amount to much. Best of luck if you choose to come over. They also have a small flatbed division which I rarely ever see.

Another real solid day today. I scanned the Lenoir terminal lot and found a trailer heading to Pineville, LA and asked if I could take that run and got the go ahead. A nice 657 mile run that I delivered tonight at the P&G. Picking up here in the morning with another decent run just SW of Atlanta with a delivery Saturday morning. Looks like I will be heading for a reset as I am piling up the hours this week with some nice runs.

Thanks. I'm gonna wait for the new year and come on in at the end of January. In the mean time I'll keep reading your thread and watching Crete posts. Good luck to ya

By the way, what is a tcall?

T-calling (terminate call) is when you drop the trailer at somewhere other than its final location, in this case he had to much time on the load and was allowed to drop it in the yard at Lenoir City in order to get another load and maximize his hours and available
    drive time
