Well, I started my Crete adventure yesterday. Picked up an old Century (31nnn) at Greensboro. It's even got the old Qualcomm unit in it (the one with the small screen). But the truck was clean and everything worked, so after I gave it a good inspection, I grabbed an empty about 11AM and off I went. 80 miles DH, 803 loaded. Sitting in Rockford, IL right now after delivering this afternoon at 1500, waiting for the morning.

Not thinking I'll have this truck very long. It's got 563000 miles on it. But it could have been far worse. I could have had to pick up the unit the driver I rode with in the rental car had to get. Older Prostar. Broken seat...back wouldn't lock in place, and the swivel mech wouldn't lock either. And not as clean as the one I got.

Messages I have sent thus far have been answered quickly and efficiently. So, all in all, I'm off to a pretty decent start.

I'm thinking on coming back to crete on the weekly program. Just wondering if anybody knows if any one is getting decent miles on it. I live in nj. I see lots of trucks always in jersey. thanks for any info.

Good luck Packard. Can't say anything regarding the 6 day home program as I haven't spoken to anyone on it. I just know that it starts out at 0.04 less a mile which sucks.

Managed to get a load yesterday that got me out of Fairburn down the road a bit. Picking up around noon today and heading to the WM DC in New London, KY. Not a lot of miles and can't deliver until after midnight but at least I am rolling. Looks like they are catching some real cold stuff up north now with a cold front rolling down from Canada. Hoping for a nice southern return run after this one:)

Its snowing like its winter up here in Erie today. I ran to Tillsonburg Ontario last night and just missed this storm. I beat feet back to my yard and as I got home the snow started coming.
Still debating on my next move. Got a local place that pays 12 an hr plus OT after 10 Hrs a day. They also run OTR but only start at. 31cpm it would bring me home weekly. Plus they'll work with me as the wife and I will be adding to the family. I wont miss that! Which also is why I need to make an actual living instead of 4 or less days driving.

hindsy, you got to do what is right for both you and your family. discuss it thoroughly with your wife and come to a decision together. If you decide together you can get through anything together. Be safe and best wishes for your future.

Been in the wind and cold for two days...drove all morning into a dead headwind and wasn't even getting 5mpg! I'm in South Beloit, IL, heading for Piqua, OH.

I'm on the national fleet, BTW. I've been staying out 18 to 24 at a time with Schneider, so I'm used to it.

Well #### what was looking to be a real promising week at the beginning kind of fizzled out. The extra drop pay makes up for a little of the pain but stuck today in New London, KY with no loads until tomorrow for a nice wasted day. Picking up tomorrow at the charcoal plant in Burnside, KY and heading toward NC for a decent run to start the week off. At least the weather is pleasant here today and I got some decent BBQ so just have to accept what is and relax for the remainder of the day.
