I guess ok since I got screwed yesterday for virtually no miles. Talking to some of these dispatchers makes you want to smash your head against a wall sometime. Got screwed on my current run when they told me it delivered on Sunday morning and then when I am at the shipper this morning I get a message that the delivery is actually on Monday morning. I lobby to t-call the thing in KC but no luck as apparently that is another area with "short freight". So screw it, I am just going to doddle along the next two days I suppose as I don't need a reset.

    Miles update:
    week 1 = 3124 mi

    Week 29 = 2087 miles + 30.00 drop pay (2 days home)
    Week 30 = 2273 miles (+150 extra drop pay)

Drove through some heavy ### storms today in Iowa but no real problems. Sitting tonight in Des Moines and watching a little tv, thought the the NBA games was on tonight but guess I will just have to settle for some Lyndsey Lohan on SNL.

Are you using satellite tv or how are you receiving? I would love to get that Tailgater system.

I have the Tailgater and it's awesome! I have a thread in the tech section on it. The only thing is the lack of locals. I still have the antenna of course for that.

On a side note....this lack of freight really sucks! Stuck in Howard City, MI all day yesterday now stuck at the infamous Mecosta water place waiting on loading when I get the "short product" excuse...AGAIN... from them. Now waiting on planners to decide the fate of the load. Last time this happened the load was cancelled and I was stuck for another night just down the road.

I just have a regular small flat screen tv that picks up the digital signals. I had a bigger one that I took out that required the truck to be running to keep it on but this smaller one works while the truck is shut off so pretty cool. It picks up quite a few channels when near the bigger cities and sometimes nothing when in the sticks. I just plug the antenna cord into the antenna outlet beside the bunk and it gets fine reception as long as a truck is not passing in front of you.

I haven't really gotten screwed a lot with the old "low freight" message so I can't complain too much. Having a place not having their product ready to ship with a carrier and customer waiting is asinine, someone should be getting fired for poor performance.

Got a call from my kids this morning wishing me happy father's day. Really looking forward to my daughter getting to spend some time with me on the truck in a few days. Happy Father's day to all the dads out there.

Got my tile load kicked off early this morning and got the old message "we are -22 loads in Minnesota so what you see is what you get". Well they sent me a load that had an appt. time of 1730 at Malt O Meal in Northfield, MN going to Williamsport, MD for an anytime delivery on Wednesday. I called MOM and they said come on over and they would try to get me loaded early which they did. Made it over to Lake Station, IN tonight so won't have to deal with Chicago traffic tomorrow which is always nice. Could probably make it to customer tomorrow night but no parking there after unloading so I will probably just pull up at Breezewood, PA and roll on into the customer on Wednesday morning. Always dread heading toward the NE but hopefully they will find me something headed out of that direction back down south for my remaining time out this session.

I was in Cedar Falls Iowa told me same thing, that they were even on load count and trucks in area and what u see is best we have. I ended up with a general mills to gm in roanoke TX. Wish I could get loads like that all the time when low on freight.

Hope to have that kind of luck in West Jefferson, OH this afternoon....there must be close to a dozen of us here and no empties available.

Sure am glad we're Kellogg's "Carrier of the Year" (translated to "we have to kiss their ##### at the expense of our drivers productivity"....)

400 mile loads.....thats what I get 90% of the time...and getting real tired of it. The truck is acting up now, so I will lose a few days in the shop somewhere. My paychecks the last few months have really gone downhill. I haven't even had a 'big' paycheck occasionally to even things out.
    If I wasn't so broke, I'd quit.

The breakdown of my loads are as follows:
    0-200 miles - 13 (8.8%)
    201-500 --- 53 (35.8%)
    501-1000 -- 65 (43.9%)
    1001-1500 - 13 (8.8%)
    1501-2000 - 4 (2.7%)
    > 2000 ---- 0

Drop hook both ends: 59 (39.9%)
Drop hook one end: 71 (47.8%)
Live load and unload: 18 (12.2%)

Well so much for a nice run back down south:) Picked up a load at Church and Dwight in York, PA and delivering tomorrow morning here in Windsor Locks, CT. Driving through the PA backwoods, NJ and then across Da Bronx along with #### loads of construction makes for one long day.
