Well hell. First off I hate #### grocery warehouses. Second I am getting really tired of the old no loads available where ever I am. So basically a whole day wasted. Sitting down the road 50ish miles or so in Norwich, CT awaiting to get loaded at the shipper at 0530. Going to try and drop it off in Lenoir as the first drop isn't until Monday.
If at the Phelps Dodge shipper here in Norwich do yourself a favor and don't order out for Chinese.

I'm stuck at a grocery warehouse now.....been here 4 1/2 hours, was 30 mins early for my appointment. 400 mile trip, two days, doubt I will see any detention pay, but I will send in the form just to annoy them. By the time I get out of here will be close to 14 hours, and no place close to park...and some idiot in Lincoln will send me a preplan that picks up first thing in the morning, for some other crappy load...then I have to play 20 questions with them again on the qualcom...............'Why can't you be at X in the morning?' when they can just look at the computer and see what time I started working today.... Geniuses.
My brother sent me an email today, he went to a supermarket and bought some fresh veggies. The teenaged checkout girl was new. She was puzzled over the bag of fresh green beans sitting on the scale.
"What are those?' She needed to look up the product code to enter it into the cash register.
'Green beans' my brother answered.
'Oh', the girl said 'I didn't know they looked like that. I thought they only came in cans.'
I think these are the kind of people the Nebraska supermarkets won't hire, the 7/11 won't trust with the slushie machine, and they end up answering phones at Crete. -
So i put in a application with Crete.Lookin at the 6 days out deal 2 home .I know the 2 home is just a 34 realistically.Any info as far as average miles per week with this option would be of great use. Also any input on better options to look at with Crete would be helpful. Thanks in advance

I can't really say about the miles the home weekly drivers are getting but I do know they cut 0.04 off of your mileage pay which blows. Crete has pretty good to me for the most part, albeit the last two weeks have kind of sucked but I suppose that happens from time to time. I would also look at sending an application into Poly Trucking. A couple of former Crete drivers give them good reviews and I think you would like their home time policy more than that of Crete's. Best of luck in your choice.

Found out why they kept sending me loads heading west. My terminal manager I guess failed to update that I wanted my home time to stay in NC for the summer. Sitting at the Columbus terminal now with a pick up in the morning heading to Kentucky. I guess just going to watch some tv and relax the remainder of the evening.

Drunk chicken and roasted potatoes in the oven and a cold beer in hand. Got my papers notarized for my daughter to come aboard with me so looking forward to spending some time with her on the truck. Hope everyone snagged a nice 1000+ mile run for the weekend

Headed out this morning on a decent load. Picked up in the outback of NC and heading to the Lowes in North Vernon, IN and with any luck will p.u another load out of there tomorrow. Decided to pull in the reigns in eastern Kentucky as I have to roll through the backroads most of the rest of the way and going to try and get my days evened out as I usually do along with keeping it on the day shift schedule. My daughter made it pretty good today and I think is going to like it out here, I suppose as long as I continue to get her slushies and corn dogs at least

Well after running well for 4.3 days sitting close to Chicago with plenty of time to run and get the #### old low freight message again. Afterwards get a preplan that doesn't p/u until tomorrow around noon and I decline that due to ###### use of my time and get the message to check back tomorrow. Well they can kiss my ### if that is the kind of attitude that I am continuing to get from these #### dispatchers. If I have to wait 24 hours in the greater Chicago area to get a load then that is ####### unacceptable. Putting in my application today to Poly and hopefully will get good news there. Going to be stuck with Crete for at least another 1.5 months as my daughter is staying with me on the truck but after that I am done.

Sorry to see it go downhill so fast for you. Seems like things had been going pretty solid for the first part of your experience. Keep us posted on where you wind up so we can see how it compares.
