This question goes out to current and former Crete drivers. I am thinking about applying with Crete. I would like to know both the good/bad about them. IE- Pay, miles per week, average miles per run, benefits, home time, equipment, and anything else you can think of. I have talked to a recurter at Crete and would just like to get some thoughts from drivers. thanks and appricate the time.

the hometime is about the industry average. out 3 weeks, home for 2 or 3 days. they are notorious for dumping you in the middle of E.B.F. saying no loads available and you end up doing a 34 hour restart 1200 miles from the house.

miles were about 2250 to 2650 a week. they have some of the highest starting pay of anyone out there for new drivers. it is .36 a mile now i believe when other places are starting at .22 to .25 a mile.

the benefits are BCBS for health, the eye package isnt too bad but don't even waste your time on the sorry ### walgreens prescription insurance. walgreens does not participate in the 4 dollar program like walmart.

the trainers get the new trucks. they are the 2011 cascadias for the shaffer side. the international pro stars weight about 1500 pounds more and that is an issue with the reefer side. most everyone is in the older century class freightshakers. the older ones have the APUs. the cascadias have the battery packs for the rear heat/air.

some of the shaffer trailers are left over form the sunflower merge, and track like crap going down the road. they are replacing them with new ones now. they are pretty good about getting issues fixed on the road and at the terminals.

watch out for brent falgione in driver development. he is a snake.
