I'm getting ready to retire from the Air Force I have my CDL and 3 years driving local runs. I'm thinking about applying at Crete. I'll be moving to the Kansas Oklahoma area. Any thoughts how long my training would last. I'm also a smoker will that limit me on a trainer

Crete has an 8 week training plan. Smoking should not be a problem

    Welcome to the TTR Forum.

I don't think smoking will be a big issue. You will have to research the companies.

Many big OTR companies will not take a second look at local experience. Some of the smaller big companies may offer to take you with a refresher course and/or a short time with a trainer to evaluate your skills. You will probably find some smaller fleets or companies that will give you a road test and send you out.

Keep us updated on what you discover.
