jesus...CRST certainly isn't the best by ANY stretch of the imagination, but they are far from the worst, in my opinion. Like others have said, what did you expect?

When were talking about a training carrier, were not talking about a vacation, its going to suck. However CRST isn't a bad training carrier, don't agree with everything they do, sent my son to CRST for training, though they sucked, however now today he is a first rate driver, any load to any where capable. They did what was expected and he was trained one way or another to handle most every situation.
Do I agree with there methods, nope. But very happy with the results. -

I don't agree that "agree that some of the complainers on here about CRST are people that have no real work ethic and just want a paycheck for doing nothing." My husband just switched co-drivers because his previous one didn't have a "real work ethic " - so yes there are some of them - but not all. Now my husband has a co-driver that he can get his hours with; however - when they drop the loads on time - every time they have had to wait for a load to be assigned to them. At one location - they were there 1 day ahead of schedule and you know what happened? They had to wait 4 days for another load - in a Church parking lot no less. By the way - they did call every day to get a load - yes, more than once! He is so ready to quit, it is unreal. He can't make money sitting. He changed his profession because he would get rained out in his "money making" profession so he wanted to constantly stay busy. It isn't like that with CRST!! Don't believe everything that they tell you in training either. I have told him to quit! I don't even care about the contract anymore. When you go from a profession that you bring home twice as much if not more than this little bit of money with CRST you will see how much the DM's really care about keeping you working. His previous profession - he was always busy and if it wouldn't have been for the rain-outs he would still be there. We thought this was the answer - it very well may be - just not at CRST. The problem is the DM's don't really care - no matter what you tell them. The night DM's are worse. The advice I would give if you are looking for training - go with any other company except CRST. He started his school April 2021. So yes, this is a current review. There is more I could say but I won't other than the fact that my husband does have a work ethic as do some of the others that get into truck driving not everyone is lazy. So don't judge because people do not know everyone's situation.
Chinatown Thanks this. -
When I worked with PAM, which is almost the same type of company as CRST we never waited more than a day for a load. We ran 4,000-5,000 miles a week. Most of the other people I went through CDL school with quit because they were making about $150 a week or something. But they when they got a load they would only drive like 8 hours a day or something. Yes anybody can get dropped somewhere that they don't have another load for a day or two. But if it is happening all the time either the driver isn't dropping on time or the dispatcher isn't any good. When they pay you that 40 cents a mile the company is making over $1 a mile. So they have a motivation to keep you rolling. -

Make sure you have a plan and some money for the transition.
Sitting for more than a few hours is a sign to more on.
Dispatch or planning is falling down on the job. -
