I have some other company that I really want to work for but right now this is what I got to do.. if it is seriously that bad at CRST,, i will jump ship after i got the CDL in my wallet, and get atleast a few months exp from them. but my question asking if being a company driver for them was "ok".. i just meant will i be able to make atleast 500-600 a week if the rig keeps rolli'n..??

doing the math..........4,000 miles a week average split to 2,000 minimum times $0.22 = $440.00
The more miles ........obvious..........the less .......obvious
I am not saying that is alot or a little.................every persons situation, needs and perception is different.
I spoke to someone last week who works 52 hours a week and only makes $310.00 a week after taxes. Than of course their are the people who are not making any money because of not working.out of work...can't find work.
The biggest problem I see training new students is their perception of what is required to survive on the road is not realistic, or is incorrect due to bad information or not investigating fully.
The COMPANY MOTTO: we are a training company............
This is where you get your feet wet........mess up or make it.......
When you show the industry you are a safe driver and can be trusted with 80K lb. on the road the doors will open up..........It is hard starting out
Good luck to all starting............... -
As long as there are Big truck truck drivers who WILL take the Hot Load ---
dispatchers WILL continue to ask.
There ARE drivers who like those hot loads. They take 'em and git 'er done.
Thank you very much.
Many complain if they get a "normal" load.
Imagine that.
Just because a dispatcher asks, doesn't always mean
they really expect y'all to take the hot loads.
-
Your dispatcher will be the biggest factor..........
second will be you and your co-driver............
third your ability to manage your time and loads for optimum performance.
$500.-$600. will be hard to reach for a while........
Always remember this.....................Get to your p/up early and delivery early ................EVERYTIME............No exceptions and you will make money and get the loads..............
Good luck.............If you Go with CRST and ever have any questions just send me a message and I will try to help......... -
Money is money...............take the bad with the good.......... -
you don't HAVE to go with CRST.
You don't "got to do" this.
All you have to do is make a decision. And the
correct decision is preferable.
Wrong decisions are called that for a reason.
And rarely work out well.
Do you understand what'cha read?
Have you gotten all of their promises in writing?
Do you have, or have you asked the proper questions of CRST?
What do YOU see as good at CRST?
What do you see that's not so good?
What are your demands?
What will you accept?
What will you absolutely NOT accept?
Are you mentally ready for this at this time?
Do you have a plan B?
And the list goes on, ....................
With CRST it seems to be a gamble.
Can you afford to lose?
If so ----- go.
If not, why are you even considering placing your bet on less then favorable odds?
Long-shots rarely pay off, and the house usually wins.
They can usually afford to lose.
Can you?
Consider this --- if folks who have everything goin' FOR them find CRST difficult to deal with,
just imagine what a desperate person will experience.
Going to CRST for the RIGHT reason(s) is one thang --- going with CRST for the WRONG reason(s) is quite another.
My advice?
Don't go with CRST ----
but ultimately it's YOUR decision.
Make it wisely.
MACK E-6 Thanks this. -
Legally AND/OR physically.
And SOME drivers say, ........
The difficult we do immediately
the impossible takes a tad longer.
Git 'er done.
-
(yep....and you can get a better one)
Two birds with one stone............. problems solved............ LOL -
Legally goes without saying.......but taking something regarding on circumsatnces are all based on the time of accepting and picking up. If given a load late meaning getting there to p/up late also goes hand in hand...........
My dispatcher is awesome............my dispatcher knows I will get it done and when I need time I will get it...........hand in hand.........
But all situations are different I suppose........... -
