crst is the worst

    Sure.Wish.I.Finished.Training , my trainer told me that one years ago and was rather tickled by it, because as I was being trained by him, it would seem that every time he wanted to make a point of what not to do, he'd show me something wrong that a swift driver was doing, and tell me see that's how NOT to back, how to NOT to change lanes etc. ashame he used them a lot to make points, but his method worked and the training stuck, that's all that matters...

    Huh what? I'm confused Justin. What is your confusion about my quote? I was simply stating that I became a trainer after almost 2 years of driving.

    Yes, your correct in your statement and I agree. What I get irked about at times is when I hear stuff from drivers that is not accurate. If people want to criticize then so be it, but at least have correct facts when you are criticizing a company.

    Anyway, Have a good one and be safe out there. I'm leaving tonight from Tucson and heading over to Kansas City, KS. Hopefully the weather will be nice.

    OK, just relaxe & click some miles.... Remember good drivers don't effect other drivers.... You want ALL your runs to be as smooth as possible.... When I was in my OTR days, I had one foot on the throddle and the other foot up my dispatchers butts, looking for my next load, they soon learned the only way to keep me out of their hair was to give me long miles..... I did this in a very polite way of course..... So Smooth they never saw me coming to have my way with them..... Dumb as a fox & always flying under the radar
    ... Be safe, stay awake or wake up dead.... Its as simple as that

    First off, sorry it has taken me so long to get back on here. Been busy driving making money as a Lease Operator becaue I like to take control and responsibilty of my life and career!

    This number is correct. We did loose on average 36 hours each week to trailer repairs. I have every repair bill with tthe start time and when we finally got out of the shop and could roll. The typical time from the moment we got signed in to the moment we rolled would be 7-8 hours. The main repair we had was bald tires on trailers because previous drivers were to lazy to do a pre-trip and take the time to get the trailer repaired. A lot of the drivers at CRST don't have pride in what they do or seem to care. But with a company that pays so littler for how much you have to work to get it, I understand.

    We would get to the TA, check in. The TA would send the message off to CRST requesting approval for the work. CRST would send back, "we would like pictures please". Then we would sit and wait in the shop for a couple of hours before CRST would respond back with, "why is that trailer in the shop again? The previous person that was working on this has gone home. Can you please send us pictures." The TA would send pictures again and then we would be sitting waiting for CRST to send back the approval. As you all know, a simple tire repair once you are in the bay takes 20 minutes or less but it would take so long for CRST road assist to approve something and they would usually loose the order and pictures at least twice. That was our experience over and over again. Even the shop techs mentioned to us how much thtey hated having to work on CRST equipment because they take forever to approve stuff or want to haggle back and forth over price, quality of repair that was done, or to find the cheapest part possible.

    So you calling my statement BS just shows you really have no clue or you're just one of those drivers that doesn't care about the equipment at all and leave it for the next guy to get stuck with because you are to busy and have another load to get to.


    As for the pay, me and my co-driver would stay out on the road 2-3 months at a time before we left CRST. We were a very reliabe, ontime everytime (as long as we didn't have equipment issues), and fast. Because of that we had priority status for loads from the planners as soon as we were available again for dispatch and were promoted to air freight dedicated hazmat with the majority of our loads being time critical hazmat. We rarely sat anywhere after we were unloaded. 90% of the time our dispatcher, Ben Lizer, would already have us pre-planned out on 3 loads. By the way, he was usually the #1 or #2 dispatcher in the company and with your logic, that would mean I was a good driver because only good drivers get the best dispatchers! I earned my way to working with that dispatcher becuase I proved myself and how I ran my truck.

    In summary, CRST is the worst to work for and EVERYTHING I have stated about CRST has been correct and true! Also, if I am one of those drivers that must like to complain, spend all my time at the terminal talking about how I don't get miles, am a bad driver that is late and deserves what I get, then why would I get calls from the VP of Operations, Chad, Operations manager Ben, or the VP of maintenance when I turned in my resignation letter 4 weeks before I planned to leave? Each of them asked me if there was anything they could do to keep me, promised that things were going to change and at the time there was a proposal on the desk waiting approval from the CEO of CRST to increase the budget for the road assist team so the wait time for approval wasn't so long and that were going to be a bunch of people in the maintenace department at all the terminals let go because of the all my documented continued issues I had with the equipment. But hey, YOU seem to be a self important pompus prick that must not understand what a real truck company looks like. By the way, I'm making $1.50/mile at a trucking company that knows how to treat it's drivers like real people and not a number, that makes it a huge part of the dispatchers pay to make sure that there board is making money, ie the drivers are getting miles and making money!

    Please stay at CRST and keep training drivers how they shouldn't drive so that way they can keep pulling stunts like this on what should have been a very simple right turn....
