PS : I don't need as much to live on since I am older and all my kids are on the grone up side. All I really need is $4-6000 in three months or so. We will see. When you get older the top paying companies will not hire you just because you are older. So if you need to work or wont to work then you have to make it your self. I will not clame I am disable to get a "Goverment" check.
Note: any questions on any trucking company can be found at the FMSA we site--as to the # of trucks, accidents, out of service, etc.-----------------------------------fmsa.dot.gov---
twick card will only help you at ports--you have to have to get on the port. Will not help you on a military base--note do not try to carry a weapon on a goverment location!--
Thanks to all you drivers for keeping it real on here. It's inevitable, there are going to be drivers who are content with Crst, then you will have the other side. Bottom line, do your homework, don't listen to all these drivers on here. Use discernment.
An o/o is an o/o. It doesn't matter what company you go with, if you're free to find your own loads, then it's all the same. But ask about the company's maintenance. How many times do these tricks go into the shop and get rushed back out unfixed? How many problems does the company just refuse to fix? This is what you're going to lease. Malone is just a gold truck that says crst on the side. They'll get you loads, but almost every experienced o/o goes the advice of get your own loads. What it comes down to, is how much downtime is that truck going to cause from mechanical issues, and how much extra will you be paying out for the repairs crst wouldn't do? Personally, I'd look to the companies that are known for their obsession with safety, I'd trusty their tricks a lot more than ours
Does all that matter if at the end of the year if you net more pay than driving a company truck? I hear drivers all the time "I'm not going to pay for their truck for them!" Well, keep the company truck and a lower pay check and be happy. The scam is not seeing the numbers for what they are and listening to other drivers that no nothing about running a business. Do you realize multi billion dollar companies outside of trucking lease equipment rather than buying it, computers, furniture, vehicles, buildings, machines, Why? because at the end of the year they make more money.
multi billion companies lesase brand new equipment with warranty, not used and abused equipment.you only make more money leasing a truck only if that truck runs fine with no breakdowns, with Malone the payements never stop even if the truck in the shop.just go any freightliner shop and ask them how soon they can get a truck in their shop.
