also if your a first time lease purchase driver it says you get great late model equipment... does that mean you get stuck in one of the POS old gold nasty looking freightliners?

I had a brother that was an o/o with malone before crst bought them out. pretty much his income dropped at first. then things improved once the bugs were worked out. remember this was well over 12 years ago. how they are now? is anybodies guess. I would say give it a year before you start saying anything about them. And that's for a good reason. if you are leasing the truck. things will seem good for a while. maybe like other major fleets. they will cut all the work out. pretty much so they can default the lease. basically force the lessee to either terminate the lease or pay a higher interest rate. making it impossible for the loan to be paid off. so some great advice to the op. that good money you are making now. you need to put 90% of it in the bank and do not touch for a year. or until crst starts pulling the trick i mentioned. The money tucked away in the bank can go towards a truck you can pay cash for. and anything extra will help with operating costs. which will help you to keep from taking advances on loads to pay the way right out of the gate. follow this plan. and in a year. you will have the cash follow to work out the terms of another lease if needed.
when I give advice on business and finances. those are the kind of books i read. I also base it on what i would do,what to look out for,how to get things done in every since. plus i pay close attention to the facts and falsities.. so I usually always have a good back plan.Last edited: Feb 25, 2013

The trick to runnign a business is to realise you dont have a paycheck. That noone is obligated to make sure you make money or owes you anything. Noone is goign to take care of your finances for you.
Every penny you spend.. period.. is the businesses life blood. when you idle that night.. youre burning YOUR money.. not anyone elses. When you have a flat thats YOUR money that went poof. When you go 100 miles out of route to eat at that cool place.. thats YOUR 75 bucks you spent. when you have no money in the bank and dont have the strap you need to get this load.. mommy doesnt owe you a strap and noones gonna get you one.. thts YOUR responsibility. Thats why you have a bank account that, when your new girl asks you for that beautiful necklace!!!, you dont touch.. because that is the business's money. ALSO you should consider incorporating. I am once i check out the tax differences.SheepDog Thanks this.
