Well I just finished orientation with CRST in Fontana, CA 2/17/2012 and I had an amazing experience. Day 1 & 2 was ALOT of paperwork, physical and drug test. Day 3 & 4 was ALOT of homework and tests... I mean ALOT. The instructors were awesome. Especially Nate!! We had a larger class than normal. 51. Normally they only have 25 in any given week. They handled it well. Got my ID card & Comdata card and got officially hired on Friday. Half the class left with a trainer from here. Myself and many others the company rented us a car and we drove to Oklahoma City to meet with our lead drivers. My roommate is leaving today with his lead. However my lead won't be here till Wednesday so I am hanging at a hotel here in Oklahoma City. No biggy. It is par for the course. It will be worth the wait to get good training from an experienced Owner Operator. In the end when I get back to Fontana, CA I will be assigned my own truck and then Let The Fun Begin!!!! Just wanted to give new people considering CRST a positive note because most people only complain on here when they have a bad experience and most of the time it is just the new person that has issues and had a bad attitude. You must maintain and positive attitude throughout this process. Trucking is hard and not for everyone but it is an amazing lifestyle.
Good luck to all and I will post more as I am with my trainer and especially when I get back to my home terminal and get on the road.
Take Care & God Bless!!
P.S. Please feel free to ask me any questions..

Good luck to you. Tough out the B.S. and stick with it. I am sure you know there will be plenty of crap to deal with, but it pays off in the end.
Have fun. -
Just curious, was the car ride to OKC "non-stop"? Switching off driving etc. ? Or, you do a motel for one night ?

it is refreshing to a keep it positive attitude? I too am hoping to work for crst soon. Can you tell me more about the orientation process? Even though I have a two year DOT physical card does everyone take a full physical? was there any other kind of physical exams? When I took my DOT physical I had to sit for a while and let my BP relax a little, I have a problem when I am in stressful situations and was hoping to not have to take another physical exam..? the pre hire paperwork says you "MAY" have to take a physical and it also talks about a agility test? please elaborate- Knowing what I am going in for will help me calm my nerves. thanks
