crst refesher

Im thinking of going with Crst, did u go for the refresher? how long had u been outta driving? how long had u driven before this?

 

I'd like to know this as well. I'm already licensed and have limited OTR experience yet they want to send me through the whole 'school'.

 

Ok so I've been talking with recruiter from CRST and I'm leaving Fl in next few days to start their orientation on Monday. I have 6 months over the road and been out for 2 months. From what recruiter has told me I will do 3 day oreintation(monday) then out with my teammate on Thursday. So I'll keep ya posted if that changes. Recruiter said if safety made me go out with trainer then the rate of pay would be the same. He never said anything about going thru the school. But I just completed CR Englands school back in Aug 09.

 

This is for anyone thinking of or going to crst for a refesher course do not do it!!!!!!

 

why not do it?

 

they will cheat you and send you home and u will still end up owing them. Covenant has a free refesher only company that offer's one

 

There is a better way .Covenant for the refesher if u have no recent experience in the last 3 months

not to sure what to say here but here it goes
My son graduated driving school from a Technical College where we live.
He went for a full 12 week semester.
after graduating he tried to get on with more reputable carrier's. However he was only 21 at the time and most insurance companys wouldn't touch him he also had 2 moving violations one for 15 over the speed limit.
Finaly he called CRST and since it had been several months since trucking school he was advised he would have to take the refresher course.
He spent one week in Dallas doing it..He has now been with CRST for almost a year..he is making good money and he gets plenty of miles...
I dont know how he swung it but he has been running solo for the last 2 months...something to do with shorter trips with air freight..
All I can say is If my kid can make it there...YOU SHOULD BE ABLE TO also.
but then again my son knew going in what he was getting into and wasnt looking for a job but looking to start a Trucking Career. and was WILLING to do whatever it took to get his foot in the door and a stable work history under his belt...
I know each company has its pro's and con's
BUT DRIVER ITS WHAT YOU DO TO MAKE IT OR NOT..
Sometimes my kid even makes a bigger pay check than me...
