My husband and i have applied with CRST. He worked for them yrs ago,. He has been driving for 7 yrs, i have been riding with him 99% of the time for the last two. I finally told him i wanted my CDL , we discussed it and decided it would be a good thing. I would go thru the school with them, then he would be my trainer. While i am in school he will go to PA and train someone for them. Then when i get done we will go out together. They have alot of good to offer for teams. I know many don't like them but i think almost everyone has something bad to say about a trucking company. I kind of have a leg up because i already have my permit so i have driven some. i have about 15,000 miles under my belt as i say. Backing is something i now i have to work on, but i have asked my husband alot of questions about trucking thru the yrs so i know about logging, and how to log (well legal LOL). The ins and outs etc... just waiting to hear back from CRST ....keep your fingers crossed lol

So you will sign an indentured servitude contract with CRST? I wouldn't.
How long will your slavery period be? -

No, I'm not ready to admit that just yet. After all, JobHunt has some pretty big threads here in the "Bad Company" section. One is 116 pages and counting.
I wouldn't work for either one, so I guess my opinion wouldn't matter. Actually, I take that back. As you may or may not know, I will be working for JobHunt three days after doomsday. Swift has dibs, which explains why I won't be in a Jobby truck the first day after the world ends. -

That's right. I remember reading here some complaints about Jobber calling CRST's terminals. Talk about desperation.

My first trainer told me during my first week with her that a DOT officer had told her CRST stands for Crash, Roll & Stunt Testing.

''''me I was to coast on all off ramps and to stop signs rather than downshift. When I told her that went against everything I learned in school, she informed me that "things are done differently in the real world, just do it!" /'''''
It is true, they don't want you downshifting on ramps when your a very new at it. 10 to 9th maybe you will get to 8th, but by then you will run the stop sign or light by then. Newbies are not safe enought to down shift 8 gears in 200 feet. And why bother, clutch and brake if it is a short ramp. -
crst will take you, guaranteed. they will take anyone, even felonies that are 3 years old and dwi that are 3 years old.
the pay is garbage you will get .11 cents a mile if they train you.
