I am sure that you now need 90 days accident free, with no log violations to become a trainer at crst.

I have their contract. Lead drivers make about 30-40.000 a year. -
Based on what my first trainer told me she was paid per mile when she had a student on board, she made something like $3200 for the 2 weeks she trained me. I made $800.

I have access to the crst trainers manual and it does state not to down shift on ramps for new drivers. And there is no reason to try to down shift to 6th gear when there is only 200 feet and a 15 mph limit. I down shift as much as possible, because I am still new , 3mos is not long , but I just leave it in what ever gear until it chugs down and then clutch and brake.
The trainers know it all. They have done everything and seen even more. They always are right. The is no other way to do it. You take a dirtbag, put him on a trck for 3 months, and now he gets a little control or prestige over another person. Now he is the boss, it is his or her truck and you do what they say. I did. I played the game so I could get released as a co-driver. -

My hubby and I are thinking about CRST. Neither one of us has our CDL and we can not afford to pay for school ourselves. Our credit is horrible and we can't even get a short term loan. Our local community college costs $4340. My hubby does not want me to train with anyone else and CRST said that after 6 months he can train me. So, we are thinking of having him go ahead and get the training, start working and get the 6 months of experience and then he can train me. If CRST is so bad, is there anywhere else any better where they will allow my hubby to train me later on and still pay for our training?

Hi shook up.. I recently read about your horror story with CRST and I had the same problem with CRST except I am a female and I had a male trainer and he was completely inappropriate with me during my training and even though he never touched me, he made comments that would make me feel uncomfortable and he was a demanding drill sergeant at the same time like your first trainer. I never finished my training. After two weeks I left and called Lance the training coordinator and he basically laughed in my face, so I told him that I would not be staying with the company because I didn't trust anyone that he would assign me with. I am under a contract with them to pay my school, but I left anyway and they tried to scare me and say that I wouldn't be able to get any truck driving job until I paid them the amount for my school in full. They refused to take payments so I just didn't bother with them. My boyfriend and I were worried, but kept applying for jobs anyway. One day we applied at CR England and the next day they called us to come to orientation. They hired us no problem and they are going to train us together! I was so excited about this and I can't wait to start this new career.. Basically I just wanted to help with this info so you wouldn't give up on this career. There are good companies out there.
